Bugger. Left a short open on GBPUSD with too tight a stop and got closed out just before the big fall this afternoon. Really brings home the meaning of 'missed money'.

Bugger, bugger. Went short pound late Friday close to high for day, good decision, you bet? Got stopped ("gain locked" limit) Monday on one of about two downward spikes during the day. Lucky, but felt pleased then with +50. Then went long Euro late Monday, stopped today to wipe out a bit more than Mondays gain. Drawing board beckons!

What an amazing day for Cable - down all day (over 200 points just since 8am) and I took a measly 22 points from it; then really had a go at 4.30 - went short, ignored a mere 15 points, and promptly ended up -46. How is it I always do it just as it turns??? It happens time after time. Someone up there has got it in for maggots.

Maggot - I'm the same. The number of times I've called the bottom or top but in the wrong direction is uncanny. I think Cable is particularly bad for mass market psychology.

Guys,
She's getting to the stage where she should turn down again shortly. Wait until she's actually turned and has started to move down before you sell it. Then put your stoploss just above the high that has just formed.

Could be time to think about reversing those shorts to longs. Watch the /$ for the 1st chart signals but trade the cable.

Traders said the much-awaited U.S. payroll figures, due at 1330 GMT, would likely be a key factor for whether the dollar continues its bull run and tests next resistance around 112 yen and a three-month peak of $1.2055 versus the euro.
"The jobs data will be crucial for the dollar," said Kenji Kobayashi, senior manager of the foreign exchange and treasury division at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi.
He said the dollar would likely continue moving upward if non-farm payrolls came in above 200,000 but if the figure turns out lower than 100,000, the U.S. currency could come under "very strong" selling pressure.
Economists polled by Reuters, on average, forecast a rise of 125,000 in February non-farm payrolls.

It's not going to take much to turn this $ strength
around, and when the direction does change, it'll
be a very rapid rise for cable, and to a lesser
extent the euro. Maybe the farm payrolls will
be the catalyst. No position yet for me.

Ranging ahead of the data, Beebs. Agreed it looks like it wants to push up, but there's also been suspected BoJ intervention this morning selling the Yen which can cause general greenback bullish sentiment to rub off on other crosses.
