How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 19:01 - 6096 of 10502

WOODIE - 24 Nov 2005 19:02 - 6097 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 19:11 - 6098 of 10502

Just had a quick look at the footie - quite uninspiring!!!

initially thought the draw was skinny in the boro game till i saw the kick off time lol

side Bolton are playing are 1 from bottom in Portugese league and a poor side looking at the stats - will try and watch first few mins with a view to backing Bolton

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 19:13 - 6099 of 10502

greened up too early on Davis :-(

Harlosh - 24 Nov 2005 19:14 - 6100 of 10502

Evening John

you should be nicely in profit after 85 mins :-)

I read that book i was talking about when we out last time - a lot of it quite basic but a few intersting tactics that seem very well thought out - worth a read if you want to borrow it

Harlosh - 24 Nov 2005 19:21 - 6103 of 10502

Which book is it?

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 19:22 - 6104 of 10502

Racing post guide to betting exchanges

Harlosh - 24 Nov 2005 19:25 - 6105 of 10502

Ah yes, sorry. Thanks for the offer.

I'll catch up with you soon.

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 20:00 - 6106 of 10502

Boltons opponents have scored 7 goals in 11 games in the Portugese league, Bolton not likely to be gungho away from home - unders seems attractive but price a little skinny at 1.57

Harlosh - 24 Nov 2005 20:07 - 6107 of 10502

Anyone know what happened to the Marseille game?

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 20:09 - 6108 of 10502

0-0 after 24 mins - currently on British Eurosport

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 20:09 - 6109 of 10502

Bolton started poorly

Harlosh - 24 Nov 2005 20:16 - 6110 of 10502

Was suspended for a long long time Steve. Thought it may have been cancelled.

Fundamentalist - 24 Nov 2005 20:17 - 6111 of 10502

Didnt see that John - sorry mate

Bolton game looks Dire - unders already down to 1.45 after 15 mins lol, which to me makes Bolton way too short at 2.5

bakko - 24 Nov 2005 20:39 - 6112 of 10502

Just been checking out the Bolton game. Bolton only need a draw to reach the knockout stages. Probably why the game is on the crappy side.

Their opponents are currently 3rd from bottom in their Portugese league but bottom in their UEFA cup mini league whereas Bolton are top.
