AstraZeneca's ditching of Exanta demonstrates the markets faith in the ability of AZ to tackle its meagre pipeline of new products by buying in the necessary new science. With $6 billion of free cash, it should have the financial clout to seal the best deals going says the Times.

My view..... You never know, with their cash, acquisitions may be a way to go. Or they may look toward such companies as Protherics for further licensing agreements. Every little helps.
