GOLD OIL, the London-based oil exploration company focused on the South American and Caribbean region, announces that in late December 2005, the Company received an Operator Certificate from PeruPetro that allows the Company to carry out seismic, drilling and development operations in Northwest Peru.
The Promotion Licence signed with PeruPetro on October 15, 2004 with PeruPetro for Block XI (now renamed Block XXI) onshore Sechura Basin has been converted to an Exploration and Production Licence. The Licence now goes to the Ministry of Energy and Mines for approval, which could be forthcoming anytime between February and May of this year 2006.
The terms of the E&P Licence commit the Company to either shoot 120 km of 2D seismic or drill a well in the first period of five over a seven year term. The remaining four periods require the Company to either drill a well or drop the acreage. The Licence is for a term of 30 years for oil and 40 years for gas, with a minimum royalty of 5% on wellhead production for the first 5000bopd (30 MMscfd for gas) rising to 20% if and when production reaches 100,000 bopd (600 MMscfd for gas).
Times Article:
Gold Oil is valued in the market at about 15m. That is so small that almost any good news must have a big impact on the share price.
What are the chances of that happening? Run by a former Burmah Oil director, Mike Burchell, Gold Oil will drill the first in a series of wells in the Sechura Basin in April. There will be surprise if it does not find gas, as another company, Olympic, has done just that in a similar formation nearby.
The secondary target, later in the year, will be oil, I gather. A couple of months ago, Petro Tech made a big oil find offshore in the Sechura Basin. The theory is the oil may have migrated up into Gold Oils block. Dont ask me to explain the geology because I dont speak Palaeozoic. But a decent oil find here would be a company-maker.
Gold Oil has enough cash to fund this years drilling programme. And it already has a deal in place to sell its gas to Mann Ferrostaal, a German company that is building an ammonia plant nearby. Getting all that for 15m seemed a bargain to me. But Gold Oil still has to find its gas.

now, i think, everybody believe fish can fly. i can't stop to say that GOO is a top banana company. when investing, i use a simple method. i check
1/ the management
2/ the business system
3/ the product
i was very impressed by the goo management but above all by their business system: which is, make a deal, turn it around quickly to increase shareholders value. very smart. now the product is oil and gaz, now i don't have to tell you what you already know.
BEST LUCK TO ALL AND TO MY MYSELF

people who bought GOO at 4p 0r 5p will take maybe twenty per cent of their profit which is quite normal, the sp may drop a bit before the second trend of rising.
nothing unusual. best luck

Very sensible advice georgetrio, but the bottom line is the same with them all (EME, DES, RKH, VOG, ELP, etc). They all need to find and extract oil or gas. Some of them are plugging bore holes & moving on and the share price drops accordingly.

YES, I agree, but as my grand mother always says: in order to win, one must also accept to lose. now the question is how much can you afford to lose and how much can YOU accept to win? No one likes to lose but one can not afford to fear to lose. There is a saying that goes: who is faithful in little things will be faithful in great things too. in all, GOO has been faithful in all they have promised so far and deserve to be trusted. that's my view. i am a long term investor and i remain certain that goo will deliver. yes the bottom line is to find the oil&gas and produce it. apart from GOO, I LIKE PVR AND FAO.
BEST LUCK TO YOU AND TO MYSELF.

i think fund managers are starting to come back from their holidays after collecting their big fees. they don't earn fees on paper profit, so they sell huge amount of shares to maximise their fees, then enjoy some top banana holidays in some coconut trees countries when sp drops to their lowest level from july to say mid august. when they return mostly at the beginning of autumn, they buy those cheap shares and hold on to them till february or march and the cycle starts again.
one thing is certain in this universe is CHANGE. things will always change, should we say: when it drops but does not die or still has plenty of life, one should buy more and more. my view is that GOO will reach 12p then 16p and 25p. however, do not underestimate GOO. fish can fly
