<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

Balerboy.......news of rig spud i would think very soon,as new target am not sure of COS but would think it is quiet high 30% chance

Rockhoppers next anticipated well, 14/10-3, is expected to spud during January 2011 and will be an exploration
well on the northern lobe of the Sea Lion fan system outside of the proposed Discovery Area, approximately 8km
from the Sea Lion discovery well. The well will also target deeper sands, including S2, which the Company has
mapped following the Sea Lion oil discovery earlier this year. S2 has a newly-identified reservoir feeder system
and a total area currently mapped of 42 square kilometres. The well is located downdip to the main part of the S2
fan and should provide valuable reservoir information. The S2 fan is mapped on the existing Rockhopper 3D
seismic and sits entirely within 100% held Rockhopper acreage.

The second well, 14/10-4, is currently planned as an appraisal well, within the proposed Sea Lion Discovery Area
on the southern Lobe of the Sea Lion fan system, the timing of which is subject to the order of drilling slots as yet
to be determined.

des never ceases to amaze...anyhow... apparently this may be part of the reason according to some 'experts' : because Dawn/Jancinta was dry, Alpha stands a better chance of success because of gological reasons which seismics should confirm however is it wise to throw more money at DES its like throwing good money after bad presntly. But if chat of a takeover or an oil find at Alpha.... need I say it.... from these levels..... kerrrrrchinnngggg!! need to do some more digging!! gla
