THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Me too , never buy another ticket ,everyone should boycott now.

Made me more mad that they said that we have more numbers to choose from , oh thanks ,what moron spokes person thought the british public were that thick.

Haystack - 29 Jun 2015 14:51 - 61075 of 81564

Camelot won't make any more money under the new lottery system. The odds are longer to win, but you will win more. It will cause more rollovers, which is what Camelot thinks people want. The overall return for players will stay the same over a long period. Camelot are not doing it to make more profit. It is to try and halt falling sales. It is mainly due to there now being two other lotteries.

Germany, as the biggest economy, is also the biggest contributor, Poland is the biggest receiver. The UK contributes much more than it receives too, about €4.7bn more. Why the gap? The UK is a rich country and the EU points out that although it spends less in the UK than the national contribution, the British economy gains much more from access to European markets and contracts. UK exports to the EU were worth nearly €12bn in September alone.

Poland take more out of the eu than any other country
Poland is bankrupt and was when it joined the eu .

jimmy b - 29 Jun 2015 14:56 - 61078 of 81564

Hays ,first they double the price of tickets then make it harder to win the big one ,most people would rather a smaller winning ticket every draw .
I thought the Euro lottery took care of the monster jackpot junkies who like to play for massive wins with long odds.

TANKER - 29 Jun 2015 14:57 - 61079 of 81564

hay no its because of camelots big directors salaries its a dam disgrace boycott the scum

TANKER - 29 Jun 2015 14:59 - 61080 of 81564

Poland does not put one euro in to the eu yet the eu persecutes greece

ExecLine - 29 Jun 2015 14:59 - 61081 of 81564

I refuse to believe, that if we come out of the EU, this will cause us to lose all of our export business to the EU.

Similarly, using Mercedes and Audi branded cars as 'manufactured in the EU zone' examples, that if we came out of the EU, we would not be able to continue buying them.

Or am I completely wrong on this?

I am also under the impression, that by being members of the EU, this prevents us from trading with other parts of the world.

Or am I completley wrong on this too?

Haystack - 29 Jun 2015 15:02 - 61082 of 81564

Our contribution increased because it is based on economic activity of each country. The principle is that the richer pay and the poorer countries receive. That way, over a period of time the poorer countries can use the money to be more successful. The intention is to make the countries more or less equal (provided Germany is more equal).

TANKER - 29 Jun 2015 15:08 - 61083 of 81564

ex you are correct

hay you post shit
the eu rotten and 98% of brits get no benefit of being in the rotten stinking eu

HE MUST BE STOPPED CAMERON IS A LIAR

Haystack - 29 Jun 2015 15:08 - 61084 of 81564

Poland does contribute, but they are a net receiver. Germany is the largest, then it is France, Italy and the UK. That ordervmay have changed slightly. It is based on the size of each economy.

TANKER - 29 Jun 2015 15:09 - 61085 of 81564

Merkel Ready For Talks With Greece After Referendum
Mon, 29th Jun 2015 14:51

BERLIN (Alliance News) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel says she is prepared to hold talks with Athens even after Greece's planned referendum next weekend.

"We have to find a compromise," Merkel insists, but says Greece did not want a reach a compromise.

But she added that no one from outside Greece should try to influence the outcome of the July 5 referendum on the terms of the country's bailout.

cynic - 29 Jun 2015 16:00 - 61089 of 81564

PORTUGAL
i am somewhat of the view that portugal has put its bail-out funds to considerably better use than the likes of spain and obviously greece

though far from out of the woods, i would be surprised if portugal was dragged down, but i'm nowhere near as sanguine for spain

Fred1new - 29 Jun 2015 20:51 - 61090 of 81564

I think the market is ignoring;

Greece population around 11.12 million GDP 215.35 million

The population of the EU approx 507.000 million

EU GDP €14.303 trillion

Of which Greece GDP represents approx 1.3% of that figure.

Try relating figures to market.
