mg, not any help to you but I occasionally use IE7 rather than Firefox on XP home, and it very regularly crashes on me (pretty well every time), whereas Firefox is as stable as anything, and if it does crash, when you re-open it it remembers where you were and will restore your session. Handy.
So that would be my fix :-)
edit, I think it's a flash problem as that seems to be what it's trying to do when it crashes.

Use CCleaner to have a clear out. You can download a copy from the following reliable source:-
http://www.filehippo.com/
You can be quite selective as to what you use it for dealing with. Temporary files are a must, IMHO.

Doc, I can save images from the web. The scanner doesn't seem to have any other options for image type - probably because it's such a cheap one. Tempted to throw it out and start again but I think that's wasteful!
Will contact Epson online support and see if they have a fix. Thanks for trying.

Thanks guys and guyesses - looks as if it is a flash problem - but when I went outside and flashed a little old lady who was passing she called the police so I've got to go to court next Tuesday. Do you think the Magistrate knows the answer and that's how you I'll solve flash problem?
Any other suggestions 'cos I don't fancy having to do that every time I need to fix IE7 - Bill Gates never mentioned anything about spending long periods in court - or maybe that's why the EU are making him pay them shedloads of money :)

Not that I know anything about IE7 (nor about flashing) but you could try checking you have the latest Flash player.

Thanks Kayak. Have downloaded the latest Flash dancer to see if it makes a difference. Still have to go to court next week - chocciepops is next up in front of the beak after me. Apparently she went round the shops in Wilmslow asking all the blokes if they could come back to hers to flash her new PC. A gay guy from Alderley Edge took umbridge and went running for the fuzz - apparently he plays for Manchester United and has never heard the like of it :)

Maddoctor,
Put worm/delf.EYR into google it will bring up a site that will give you info. McAfee states it is a trusted site. Its a delf removal site, its free but if you don't want to use it to remove at least it will tell you about the worm.
If ever I find a virus/worm google usually helps, as I am not very computer literate to say the least.

Anyone help.
I have used a laptop with a router for several months with no prob, until my wife also bought a laptop. Now it's OK if I go onto the internet first, but if my wife goes on before I do, mine often states internet unavailable. We both have to shut down and then I have to connect first. If I connect first, my wife can connect without a problem. Strange or what.

greekman, in Connection Properties for the local area connection check under Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) that it says Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically, on both laptops.
If that doesn't work, tell us the model of the router and whether you're connecting the laptops to it by wire or wireless.
