Bugger, bugger. Went short pound late Friday close to high for day, good decision, you bet? Got stopped ("gain locked" limit) Monday on one of about two downward spikes during the day. Lucky, but felt pleased then with +50. Then went long Euro late Monday, stopped today to wipe out a bit more than Mondays gain. Drawing board beckons!

Beeblebrox - 03 Mar 2004 11:54 - 612 of 11056

Tellon - 03 Mar 2004 13:29 - 614 of 11056

A small long... Looks like your using my terminology there..

Been Loon and Short all over the place today Yen/CHF//$ accumilated and lost 81 pips.

Currently Short Cable @ 183.04

Tellon - 03 Mar 2004 14:09 - 615 of 11056

Out...

Treblewide - 03 Mar 2004 19:37 - 616 of 11056

just tried on of these forex thingy trades...long cable as you dudes call it 1.8282 just a tiny wee trade as forex is a bit scarey

Maggot - 03 Mar 2004 20:55 - 617 of 11056

What an amazing day for Cable - down all day (over 200 points just since 8am) and I took a measly 22 points from it; then really had a go at 4.30 - went short, ignored a mere 15 points, and promptly ended up -46. How is it I always do it just as it turns??? It happens time after time. Someone up there has got it in for maggots.

dclinton - 04 Mar 2004 08:11 - 618 of 11056

Maggot - I'm the same. The number of times I've called the bottom or top but in the wrong direction is uncanny. I think Cable is particularly bad for mass market psychology.

hilary - 04 Mar 2004 08:22 - 619 of 11056

Guys,

She's getting to the stage where she should turn down again shortly. Wait until she's actually turned and has started to move down before you sell it. Then put your stoploss just above the high that has just formed.

Treblewide - 04 Mar 2004 08:47 - 620 of 11056

closed my position for a few points....

hilary - 04 Mar 2004 15:58 - 621 of 11056

Could be time to think about reversing those shorts to longs. Watch the /$ for the 1st chart signals but trade the cable.

Tellon - 04 Mar 2004 16:24 - 622 of 11056

Should Hit 1.2300 but then hopefully will go back down to 1.2000

Anyone here had trouble getting CMC Platform to work? Java Errors?

hodgins - 04 Mar 2004 18:32 - 623 of 11056

cable double bottom for the day?

hilary - 05 Mar 2004 07:06 - 624 of 11056

Traders said the much-awaited U.S. payroll figures, due at 1330 GMT, would likely be a key factor for whether the dollar continues its bull run and tests next resistance around 112 yen and a three-month peak of $1.2055 versus the euro.

"The jobs data will be crucial for the dollar," said Kenji Kobayashi, senior manager of the foreign exchange and treasury division at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi.

He said the dollar would likely continue moving upward if non-farm payrolls came in above 200,000 but if the figure turns out lower than 100,000, the U.S. currency could come under "very strong" selling pressure.

Economists polled by Reuters, on average, forecast a rise of 125,000 in February non-farm payrolls.

Beeblebrox - 05 Mar 2004 11:24 - 625 of 11056

It's not going to take much to turn this $ strength
around, and when the direction does change, it'll
be a very rapid rise for cable, and to a lesser
extent the euro. Maybe the farm payrolls will
be the catalyst. No position yet for me.

hilary - 05 Mar 2004 11:27 - 626 of 11056

Ranging ahead of the data, Beebs. Agreed it looks like it wants to push up, but there's also been suspected BoJ intervention this morning selling the Yen which can cause general greenback bullish sentiment to rub off on other crosses.

Beeblebrox - 05 Mar 2004 11:31 - 627 of 11056

quite a nice base line here though hils - 181.80ish
if i had a big pot i'd start buying a little - say 25%
about now, but i don't, so just gonna watch till the
trend changes.

hodgins - 05 Mar 2004 12:50 - 628 of 11056

/$ through or bounce?
Plenty of bottoms on daily chart!

Tellon - 05 Mar 2004 13:10 - 629 of 11056

Through.. Resistance at 350 on the euro ongoing trend for the past 9 Days.

Im putting a big postion on down.. Im very convinced the dollar will get stronger.

Beeblebrox - 05 Mar 2004 14:02 - 630 of 11056
