Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

James, it's because Dil's in Wales. Electricity runs slower there ;-)

kimoldfield - 17 Aug 2007 11:29 - 6112 of 7315

Dil has electric? He must be in South Wales, they always get the good things before us in the north!

Dil - 17 Aug 2007 12:05 - 6113 of 7315

Yeah but the neighbours are crap.

I don't believe this, our power went off 10 mins ago!! We are used to a few brief cuts were I live but they usually last just a few seconds. The battery on my laptop has about 1 hour left in it. Bet you don't even know what a power cut is Dil?!!

Dil - 17 Aug 2007 12:44 - 6116 of 7315

Short British Energy :-)

Dave

I used to use proquote a few years back, back in the days when I understand a bunch of trainspotters shared a new password each week, and when the count still owned a big chunk.

It's a great service - but it's not the same type of service as MAM - comparing them is just silly.

What's your password?

:oD
Still no power, Scottish Power "are aware that there is a problem". Yea, ok.....well sort it then. NOW!

Haha, I'm beginning to sound like Dave now!

Dil - 17 Aug 2007 13:24 - 6119 of 7315

North sea gas and oil running out and now the electrics running out too .... better move Kim :-)

kimoldfield - 17 Aug 2007 14:44 - 6120 of 7315

SH*T, SH*T, SH*T. Laptop died at the worst possible moment!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Power just come back on and FTSE has gone up 250 points BO**OCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

dave leach - 17 Aug 2007 15:14 - 6121 of 7315

kimoldfield must have used the same IT 'experts' as these comedians. 2 weeks without a proper level 2 feed. To think we're charged for this pissin service!!

kimoldfield - 17 Aug 2007 15:21 - 6122 of 7315

I can understand your frustration Dave, my lost hour was due to a power cut at the worst possible time, no doubt something relatively small. Yours is probably just a small technical problem too but the damned things do take a bit of sorting. I don't think either of us can blame MAM for our troubles though! The suppliers however, oh yes!!

greekman - 17 Aug 2007 15:49 - 6123 of 7315

. Mistaken Post.

MightyMicro - 17 Aug 2007 16:52 - 6124 of 7315

Dave, you do love banging on, don't you?

As I recall, your problem was connected with one instrument through one marketmaker. To say that constitutes "2 weeks without a proper level 2 feed" is a little sweeping, particularly when it's nothing whatsoever to do with MoneyAM's systems and software but the responsibility of the upstream feed.

Yes, very annoying for you as it's an instrument that's important to you, but arguably more so for MoneyAM who have to put up with many and varied Level 1 and 2 grades of insult while trying to ensure the problem gets fixed.

If you want to argue the toss further, may I suggest that you email or call me, as I run the company that implemented the level 2 software for MoneyAM (the IT 'experts' you refer to above).

I'll be happy to debate the issues with you.

Regards

MM

Kayak - 17 Aug 2007 17:35 - 6125 of 7315

kimoldfield, perhaps a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, but for the next time I'd certainly recommend one of these:

Belkin 1200VA UPS

kimoldfield - 17 Aug 2007 18:45 - 6126 of 7315

Thanks for that Kayak. The problem was a blown transformer a couple of miles from where I live, blacked out a 15 mile radius. I use my desktop computer for every day stuff and I normally have my laptop fully charged so a power cut would not be a problem.............today,sod's law applied!!

philwalker - 20 Aug 2007 07:04 - 6127 of 7315

IanT(MoneyAM) - 20 Aug 2007 07:17 - 6128 of 7315

Ian

philwalker - 20 Aug 2007 07:23 - 6129 of 7315

IanT(MoneyAM) - 20 Aug 2007 08:02 - 6130 of 7315

dave,

The release for land was not deployed at the weekend - I am seeking clarification as to why, and and ETA.

Ian
