Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

MrCharts - 27 Jan 2009 12:12 - 612 of 6906

Ruth,
Re- that video.
A case opened at the International Criminal Court yesterday in which a man was accused of "persuading" children to join his army to kill, pillage and rape.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/7850397.stm

I have no idea whether he is guilty or not since I haven't seen the evidence.

It's interesting that fred (and his like) remain silent, as he does on so many terrible things like Darfur, on the possibility of Hamas members being brought to trial for committing identical crimes to those alleged against Thomas Lubanga in the Congo.
There is plenty of evidence on that video alone.....................

Gausie

That Mr Benn is OK, albeit before my time. Better offspring than the other one i'm sure :)

Chart and his/their fellow travellers on the extreme right and the extreme left etc..

Interesting rant of possible projection.

Re-thugs,
I suspect it's merely he thinks everyone who disagrees with him is "them".
He lumps people together into big boxes. It enables him to label everyone without thinking so that he can hate more easily. It's always been like that throughout history. Demonise the "enemy", make them "sub-human", easier to hate, easier to justify atrocities. Link them, "Trotsky was a Jew". Therefore all communists are Jews, therefore murder all Jews and Communists. Typical Nazi subliminal (later overt) propaganda. Also later taken up by the Communists themselves. And employed now by Hamas, Hizbollah, Al Quada, L-e-T and the rest.........not to mention their fellow travellers on the extreme right and the extreme left...........
But hate is blind and hatred cannot see (with apologies to the Bard for changing his words).

It is nice to think of you with steam coming out of your ears.

I would think it reasonable for the leadership of Israel (Ehud Olmert, Tzipi Livni etc.). and the leadership of Hamas or Fatah to be prosecuted in an International court of law for War Crimes or Crimes against Humanity and Corruption.

Also, I would like to see Blair, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Mugabi as well as those responsible for the killings in Darfur, Congo etc. to be tried before and international court of law for War Crimes, Crimes against Humanity and Corruption.

The problem I find with Darfur, Sudan, Somali, Congo and similar War or Killing Zones is trying to make sense of what is happening (no doubt Charts will find it easy to make a nonsense out of these areas). For me they seem to be almost confused states of banditry, which are often manipulated from outside the states.

But, what I would like to know is, who is financing and providing the armaments for the various groups. I think, if this was revealed, it might provide a useful insight into possible international corruption.

Meanwhile, the address for the humanitarian appeal for the Gaza state is: http://www.dec.org.uk

Fred1new - 27 Jan 2009 13:33 - 615 of 6906

PS. I would also like the following individuals, if they are alive, to appear in and International Court of Law for Crimes against Humanity.
Osama bin Laden, Aimon Muhammad Rabaie al-Zawahiri.

Steam coming out of my ears?
No, more like sorrow for the suffering in the world - and sadness at a wasted intellect; but not tears for the latter. There can be none for those who drip vitriol and venom.

I'm so glad you now recognise - after my prompting - other terrible things happening in the world.
All of a sudden.
Perhaps one or two things are dawning on you when you reflect on some of the things you have said.
Or perhaps not, maybe I'm being my usual optimistic and forgiving self; or just naive.
Your attempts at "even-handedness" are laughable, not to mention somewhat belated..........
Early in this thread I thought maybe the scales might fall from your eyes, even when you demonstrated complete irrationality. I now realise that is a forlorn hope.
I don't think I will bother reading or writing here again, as it's a waste of time.
I even think the best thing is to hope others come to the same conclusion and leave you in an empty echo chamber to enjoy listening to your own stuck needle and those of your like minded.
And with apologies to Dylan Thomas, you can,
"Rage, Rage, Against the Dawning of the Light".

Blimey Fred. If Gaza were a stock, you'd be able to ramp the price double in a fortnight.

If I was so lucky!!

Gausie - 27 Jan 2009 14:12 - 620 of 6906

Fred - you forgot to plug dec.

It's important to raise money for these gallant heroes who fought to the very last human shield.

Fred1new - 27 Jan 2009 14:19 - 621 of 6906

Gausie, I apologise, I am sorry. Especially for you:

Or maybe you think it is acceptable behaviour,?

So which one is it Fred, dont go all shy on me now,its not a difficult question
Are you going to condemn the hamas adults actions in that video or not?

Mr Charts, when did you loose the MR title from your screen name,
Fred seems to have picked up a bad habit of now calling you charts,
maybe he thinks it makes him sound a bit more authorative,

Notice Fred still hasnt commented on that shocking hamas children video?
cant say im surprised really, its not the first time hes failed to answer on something that blatantly goes against the rose tinted glasses hes become accustomed to wearing.

Bury, head and sand springs to mind

sivad - 28 Jan 2009 09:00 - 630 of 6906

Are Hamas mad? There is a fragile ceasefire in place and they go and blow up an Israeli armoured jeep killing one MCO.
Result-Israel hits back with the predicted results.
It beggars belief that Hamas has caused the Gazan population to be subjected to reprisals for 22 days for blasting over 8000 rockets in to Israel.Hamas has taken an almighty beating but simply cannot resist breaking the ceasefire.

The only conclusion I can draw is that they simply care not about the fate of the own people.Surely they are not that stupid to think Israel will not retaliate-or perhaps they are too clever and putting the propaganda war first.

Fred1new - 28 Jan 2009 10:32 - 631 of 6906

Gausie, Your sense of humour does not amaze me. It is what I am coming to expect from you. Congratulations. I would think it will appeal to the one with the big heart and common sense.

I can see that not all the idiots are outside the Middle East. Perhaps you can offer your obvious talents as arbitrators in the conflict.

People with such wit as yours, will make the job much easier for G. Mitchell.

You parade the problems that the Palestinians are having in any negotiations with Israeli supporters.

I dont think Hamas have claimed responsibility for attack on the Israeli patrol.
It appears to be a breakaway group.
It was stupid, but the Israeli response is in my opinion also stupid as it is disproportionate and murder once again.
It is bullyboy tactics and thuggery once again.

Also it loses any sympathy that Israel had for its previous actions.

It I worth reading the following articles.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/5212870.stm
=======================================

The Israeli army has been accused of using Palestinian civilians as human shields in an operation in northern Gaza.
According to the Israeli human rights group, B'tselem, six civilians including two minors were subjected to the illegal tactic during an incursion into the town of Beit Hanoun last week.

Meanwhile as there are still children dying in Gaza as a consequence of Israeli bombing and shelling. Those with big hearts and commonsense can of course donate.

The Gaza appeal is once again.
