Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

I can understand your frustration Dave, my lost hour was due to a power cut at the worst possible time, no doubt something relatively small. Yours is probably just a small technical problem too but the damned things do take a bit of sorting. I don't think either of us can blame MAM for our troubles though! The suppliers however, oh yes!!

. Mistaken Post.

Dave, you do love banging on, don't you?

As I recall, your problem was connected with one instrument through one marketmaker. To say that constitutes "2 weeks without a proper level 2 feed" is a little sweeping, particularly when it's nothing whatsoever to do with MoneyAM's systems and software but the responsibility of the upstream feed.

Yes, very annoying for you as it's an instrument that's important to you, but arguably more so for MoneyAM who have to put up with many and varied Level 1 and 2 grades of insult while trying to ensure the problem gets fixed.

If you want to argue the toss further, may I suggest that you email or call me, as I run the company that implemented the level 2 software for MoneyAM (the IT 'experts' you refer to above).

I'll be happy to debate the issues with you.

Regards

MM

kimoldfield, perhaps a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, but for the next time I'd certainly recommend one of these:

Belkin 1200VA UPS

kimoldfield - 17 Aug 2007 18:45 - 6126 of 7315

Thanks for that Kayak. The problem was a blown transformer a couple of miles from where I live, blacked out a 15 mile radius. I use my desktop computer for every day stuff and I normally have my laptop fully charged so a power cut would not be a problem.............today,sod's law applied!!

Yes Mck,

They are our suppliers, and it would seem tha their whole site is having problems.

I will let you know as soon as they have resolved it,

ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 20 Aug 2007 12:53 - 6135 of 7315

Mick,

They seem to have resolved the issue - if you try now you should be able to see that article,

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 20 Aug 2007 13:04 - 6136 of 7315

Mick,

It seems the problem is server based and intermmitent. It has unfortunately returned - they are working to resolve it fully and hope to have normal service resumed as soon as possible,

PW Carnell - 20 Aug 2007 17:04 - 6137 of 7315

Ian have you had problem with my payment seem to have been downgraded and can only get delayed prices on this antiquated system for non streaming stockwatch -if so can you restore it and Ill sort it Tuesday on my return

Karl(MoneyAM) - 20 Aug 2007 17:58 - 6138 of 7315

PW,

I've had a check on the system and you still have an active paid account. It appears you had somehow changed to view the html stockwatch. I have changed it back to streaming. If it changes back again, you just need to click the "Turn streaming on" link at the top of the page.

Thanks,

Karl.

What could I try to address a recent problem with some L2 pages not properly filling?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 21 Aug 2007 10:17 - 6140 of 7315

Chea,

When you say they are not filling properly, what exactly do you see when you try to view a stock - can you give me an example of an epic?

Ian

Chea - 21 Aug 2007 10:26 - 6141 of 7315

Ian,

I mean I get some sections only of previously fully loaded L2 pages appearing when clicking from tab to tab. Sometimes I might get the previously loaded page reloading java.

I have been logging out and restarting L2 to solve this over the last couple of days but it usually reoccurs.
