Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

What could I try to address a recent problem with some L2 pages not properly filling?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 21 Aug 2007 10:17 - 6140 of 7315

Chea,

When you say they are not filling properly, what exactly do you see when you try to view a stock - can you give me an example of an epic?

Ian,

I mean I get some sections only of previously fully loaded L2 pages appearing when clicking from tab to tab. Sometimes I might get the previously loaded page reloading java.

I have been logging out and restarting L2 to solve this over the last couple of days but it usually reoccurs.

Ian,

Sorry, I forgot examples, ADN/AEX/SYNC.

Chea,

It sounds like it is java related, so the first thing I would suggest would be to try re installing the Java Plugin by clicking on the link below:

http://java.sun.com/webapps/getjava/BrowserRedirect?locale=en&host=www.java.com:80

Beyound that without looking at the machine it is hard to tell, but it could be your java settings in your firewall interfering with it when you try to flick between stocks.

Ian,

Thank you. Will attempt the re-load.

I can only go back three 'Earlier Threads' pages on the Thread List. There is no 'Earlier Threads' button at the bottom of this last page.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 21 Aug 2007 13:36 - 6146 of 7315

Doc,

There is an 'earlier posts' button which should appear directly under this post, that takes you back a few more pages, and you can then pick from the numbers on the right hand side.

indu,

it would appear that our RNS news supplier are having a problem - we have passed it onto them to rectify.

Dave, you do love banging on, don't you?

As I recall, your problem was connected with one instrument through one marketmaker. To say that constitutes "2 weeks without a proper level 2 feed" is a little sweeping, particularly when it's nothing whatsoever to do with MoneyAM's systems and software but the responsibility of the upstream feed.

Yes, very annoying for you as it's an instrument that's important to you, but arguably more so for MoneyAM who have to put up with many and varied Level 1 and 2 grades of insult while trying to ensure the problem gets fixed.

If you want to argue the toss further, may I suggest that you email or call me, as I run the company that implemented the level 2 software for MoneyAM (the IT 'experts' you refer to above).

I'll be happy to debate the issues with you.

Regards

MM

well 2 weeks without a marketmaker quoting constitutes a 'problem' in my eyes. I presume you either don't trade shares or don't use level 2?

MightyMicro - 27 Aug 2007 11:12 - 6154 of 7315

Dave:

You miss my point which was that the problem was not a malfunction with MoneyAM, its systems or software. The required data was not being provided by the upstream supplier.

Your presumptions about me are incorrect.

not really, tis moneyam i pay to for a service. If i go the chippy and the bloke behind the counter is useless and the service is awful do i blame the chippy or the bloke who caught the fish and the farmer who grew the spoods??

MightyMicro - 27 Aug 2007 19:36 - 6156 of 7315

Do you also shout at the Hostie if your plane is late?

MoneyAM's "bloke behind the counter", IanT, was very attentive to your problem. But I can see that you are not a person who will yield to rational argument, Dave, so I give up.

kernow - 27 Aug 2007 20:38 - 6157 of 7315

Amen to that .... and put Dave's toys back in his pram on the way past.

I am having authentication problens when I log on (or rather attempt to log on). I enter user name/ password and I just get a new blank screen with 'done' at the bottom. Is it me or mAm today?
