Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

indu,

it would appear that our RNS news supplier are having a problem - we have passed it onto them to rectify.

Dave, you do love banging on, don't you?

As I recall, your problem was connected with one instrument through one marketmaker. To say that constitutes "2 weeks without a proper level 2 feed" is a little sweeping, particularly when it's nothing whatsoever to do with MoneyAM's systems and software but the responsibility of the upstream feed.

Yes, very annoying for you as it's an instrument that's important to you, but arguably more so for MoneyAM who have to put up with many and varied Level 1 and 2 grades of insult while trying to ensure the problem gets fixed.

If you want to argue the toss further, may I suggest that you email or call me, as I run the company that implemented the level 2 software for MoneyAM (the IT 'experts' you refer to above).

I'll be happy to debate the issues with you.

Regards

MM

well 2 weeks without a marketmaker quoting constitutes a 'problem' in my eyes. I presume you either don't trade shares or don't use level 2?

MightyMicro - 27 Aug 2007 11:12 - 6154 of 7315

Dave:

You miss my point which was that the problem was not a malfunction with MoneyAM, its systems or software. The required data was not being provided by the upstream supplier.

Your presumptions about me are incorrect.

not really, tis moneyam i pay to for a service. If i go the chippy and the bloke behind the counter is useless and the service is awful do i blame the chippy or the bloke who caught the fish and the farmer who grew the spoods??

MightyMicro - 27 Aug 2007 19:36 - 6156 of 7315

Do you also shout at the Hostie if your plane is late?

MoneyAM's "bloke behind the counter", IanT, was very attentive to your problem. But I can see that you are not a person who will yield to rational argument, Dave, so I give up.

kernow - 27 Aug 2007 20:38 - 6157 of 7315

Amen to that .... and put Dave's toys back in his pram on the way past.

Haystack - 28 Aug 2007 12:57 - 6158 of 7315

I am having authentication problens when I log on (or rather attempt to log on). I enter user name/ password and I just get a new blank screen with 'done' at the bottom. Is it me or mAm today?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 28 Aug 2007 12:59 - 6159 of 7315

Haystack,

I have just logged out and back in with no problems - can you tell me are you trying to access a certain page before you login? Let me know and I will try that at this end.

If not, it may be a cookie issue, as a session cookie is set on your machine when you login, so this may be being blocked by your machine.

Also logged out after a previously trouble-free morning. So far, not having much luck retaining the log-in.

Chea - 28 Aug 2007 13:20 - 6161 of 7315

Main problem - can't seem to access L2, just sends me to another log in screen :-(

IanT(MoneyAM) - 28 Aug 2007 13:22 - 6162 of 7315

Chea,

We are taking a look into this - will let you know,

Ian

Chea - 28 Aug 2007 13:24 - 6163 of 7315

PW Carnell - 28 Aug 2007 13:30 - 6164 of 7315

IanT(MoneyAM) - 28 Aug 2007 13:31 - 6165 of 7315

Chea,

We are just doing some restarts so all shoudl start to come back to normal in the next few minutes - apologies for the inconvenience,

Ian

Haystack - 28 Aug 2007 13:37 - 6166 of 7315

I was accessing through Traders page. The problem has stopped now. I had the problem for a while this mornng twice at different times afew hours apart. My wife also had problems in the same way ccessing mail.com to get email. Maybe it was a routing problem through Sky internet.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 28 Aug 2007 13:41 - 6167 of 7315

Haystack,

at the time when you reported it, it may have been linked to the issue we were having. Please let me know if it happens again,

Ian
