Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

free hit countersDesire Petroleum

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

Pro - A dog with fleas? you seem to lack the ability to argue your case, were you badly educated or do you think canine parasites are linked to the intricasies of farm-in arrangements? A reply slightly longer than one sentance would be helpful if you can manage it - unless of course you have an ulterior motive for your message :-)

pro - 01 Feb 2005 14:02 - 616 of 6492

I have what you seem to lack. Business acumen. If you wish to get cute with verbosity -do so. Me? I'm outta here just as quick as I gotoutta DES.L!!!

mitzy - 01 Feb 2005 14:04 - 617 of 6492

good luck and good riddance.....

pro - 01 Feb 2005 14:34 - 618 of 6492

Rest assured that luck plays no part in my financial acquisitions -good nor bad. As for "good riddance" impertinance and rudeness do not befit you well. I speak as a lady of some refinement. Saying I'm outta here does not mean a projection into the stratosphere -merely a detachment from those inferiors who would deem themselves superiors. Desire Petroleum makes no money and lives on nothing more than hopes and immanent announcements. Bit like some folk, I guess.

It does make you wonder about block B that with 300km of 3D seismic already been shot over it why has another company not taken it over, so I can only come to one conclusion that block B will be used as a sweetener to lure a major in to the NFB as to the likes of Shell who will get lets say 70% stake in block B and Desire get 12% and other parties get a %.

Just remember the shell block had free flowing oil to the surface and also had good gas shows hence the flaring from the rig, I believe there is a much bigger picture going to take place here which will knock as lot of people off there feet as to the sheer scale of what has been going on in the background when news breaks.

I am a lady you know..lol...

pro - 01 Feb 2005 16:53 - 621 of 6492

Don't forget that Shell had this area covered (before Desire went in and took the gamble) -and rejected it. Shell aren't infallible but what are the odds against them being proved right??

"a lady of refinement" who wishes to be called a "pro"

4.82% down again today. Game OVER I'd say!!

luckyswimmer - 01 Feb 2005 17:09 - 624 of 6492

Nice one Ming, interesting that all the 100k trades today were buys, small investors out and the serious ones taking advantage?

The reason Shell rejected B block or ex shell block was because oil was at $10 a barrel and to extract oil would cost about $18.

oily1 - 01 Feb 2005 18:47 - 626 of 6492

More buys than sells today and the price is marked down; wouldn't be because of an impending announcement of a rights issue at 50p per share by any chance ;-/

momentum - 01 Feb 2005 20:18 - 627 of 6492

Only more buys than sells oily because it was marked down.

Hi all

I managed to top up this morning again, @ 0.578p. Looks like we have had some differnces of opinion on the board today. Oh well. I still say it, DES is still in an up trend (main trend).

Here is some information regards the the trend. This suggests the main trend is still in tact.

3 Months ago 6 Months ago 1 Year ago Increase from low
(+108.65%) (+56.12%) (+371.74%) (+429.27%)

(can't get the above to line up for some reason)

If there is a rights issue about to be posted. Then this might be the reason for such a deep retracement. The change has been (20.22% over 15 days) an average of 1.348% per day.

Compare this to the rise on these dates.

05/11/04 0.00%
08/11/04 0.00%

09/11/04 +33.9%
10/11/04 +33.3%
11/11/04 +15.0%

Look at how the market had very little volume, just before the big rise! Can I also add there was a doji candle on the 29/10/04.

Good Luck All

Hi Momentum

Is DES still screaming Buy ?

I think it's Berlingo that's been selling. (he holds the most).

Kind Regards

Eddie

berlingo - 01 Feb 2005 21:24 - 631 of 6492

Thanks Eddie.Your facts and figures make me feel a little better tonight following a frustrating trading day.
Good luck tomorrow everyone.Tension or what at the moment?

eddieshare - 01 Feb 2005 21:30 - 632 of 6492

Hi Berlingo

Well look at the 05/11/04 & 08/11/04, keep some nails incase the volume gets lower.

Kind Regards

Eddie

Eddie
I`m still in at all levels! Obviously down on a sizeable chunk at mo but i am holding out. I mean whats the worst case scenario here? That no one wants the f
arm in , has this happened b4 ?
Regards

eddieshare - 01 Feb 2005 21:43 - 634 of 6492

Hi Berlingo

I don't see the worst case scenario. DES would not let things go this far witout making an announcment, if there were no farm in partners. As Markymar says lots of partners lots of holes. It would take time to negotiate all of this. Look at all the other news Markymar has posted. All the other interest around this area. It's not for nothing!

Kind Regards

Eddie
