EU, UK need widest possible free trade deal, Hungary says

BUDAPEST, Jan 18 (Reuters) - Hungary's foreign minister Peter Szijjarto said on Wednesday the European Union and Britain should strive for the widest, most comprehensive possible free trade deal in the wake of Britain's impending exit from the bloc, or Europe risks economic harm.

He added that even though Brexit was "bad news for Europe as well as Hungary" the European Union must not penalise London in any way for the decision, and urged close cooperation between Europe and Britain in the areas of security and labour.

Szijjarto warned that the UK is likely to make quick trade deals with other nations, posing a risk to Europe if it proves less competitive.

the problem for eu as an entity is that it cannot risk being too soft on uk as that would endanger the whole, for fairly obvious reasons
nevertheless, trying to wield the big stick would also be counter-productive

I didn't think that it was governments who did the majority of economic deals, but companies, businesses and individuals who did the deals within the laws, rules and regulations set by governments?

Boris, Maybe and those who wish to break up or fragment Europe can shout as much as they like about how many deals there will be after the "exit".

Can we see what those deals are going to be?

What the UK governments of the last 6 years have been responsible for is the breakdown of Medical and Socials Services, Education, Transport and other parts of the infrastructure of the country.

Now it is completing the job by turning the UK into a tramp steamer of the world.
