Galleon sets sail with new music show

UK kids intellectual property owner Galleon Entertainment has greenlit a new animated music series, called Apollo's Pad (26x5').

The show, produced with record label Sony BMG, breathes new life into classic tracks by adding comedy and animation. Targetting 16-24s, each episode is set in a live music venue called Apollo's Pad.

After two minutes of comedy, featuring characters such as club manager Hudson, popular songs such as I'm a Believer, War and Money are given a new look using animation.

London-based Good Story Productions has been given the go-ahead to start work on the first six episodes, with animation from Canada's Copernicus Studio.

The launch of the Apollo's Pad website, which will include streaming, downloads and user-generated content, is set for October. The show was created by Galleon's CEO Stephen Green and MD Len Dunne.

Galleon recently raised 2m (US$4m) to invest in its product IP division Croco and develop new properties.

Galleon Signs DVD Licensing Agreement for Skunk Fu!

Galleon Holdings plc is delighted to announce that it has licensed the UK DVD
rights of Skunk Fu! series one to Warner Music Group in return for a minimum
guarantee and further royalties linked to sales volume. For competitive reasons
the financial details of this five-year agreement cannot be disclosed.

Skunk Fu! commenced broadcast earlier this month on BBC on Weekdays at 3.50pm
where it is already the highest rated kids show in its timeslot, and is shown at
weekends on CBBC. The show has been sold into 35 territories including key
countries such as France, Germany and Italy. Galleon is actively discussing
further licensing deals for other territories in which Skunk Fu! will be
broadcast.

Skunk Fu! comprises 52 episodes of animated comedy action for Kids aged 6-12
years. Galleon owns 15% of Skunk Fu! and controls the worldwide licensing and
merchandising rights (excluding Germany) to the property.

Stephen Green CEO of Galleon commented, 'This is the first licensed deal
received for the UK and we are delighted to be working with a partner of this
calibre in a key category like DVD's.'

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Galleon Holdings moved up 2 pence to 20-3/4
following news that it has licensed the UK DVD rights of Skunk Fu! series one to

Galleon Opens Apollos Pad

U.K.-based intellectual property owner Galleon Ent. has greenlight production of a new animated series titled Apollos Pad. Working in association with Sony BMG, The company will initially oversee the production six episodes of the musical comedy show targeted at viewers 16-24.

Set in an animated live-music venue dubbed Apollos Pad, the series follows the adventures of the king of disco dudes, club manager Hudson, and a bunch of music-loving maniacs that work and perform in the joint. Each five-minute episode features two minutes of gag-based comedy, followed by an animated music video featuring a classic hit re-recorded to reach a new audience. The songs are being produced by Grammy award-winner Brian Rawlings of U.K.-based Metrophonic Studios, who has produced chart-topping hits for Cher and Enrique Iglesias. The first episodes will include the the classic Monkees tune "I'm a believer," as well as Edwin Starrs "War" and Pink Floyds "Money."

Apollo's Pad was created by Galleon Holdings plc. CEO Stephen Green and managing director Len Dunne. The show is being produced by London-based Good Story Prods., whose writing team includes Chris Brown (South Park, Friends), with animation from Canadian company Copernicus Studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The property will also be launched on apollospad.com, which will provide streaming, premium downloads and user-generated content beginning in October.
