How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Now 2.5 for the draw so Celtic must be putting the pressure on.

Harlosh - 26 Nov 2005 16:29 - 6184 of 10502

Radio commentator just said 'Celtic really trying but not at their best today'.

Harlosh - 26 Nov 2005 16:54 - 6185 of 10502

Can't believe they didn't score. :-(

WOODIE - 26 Nov 2005 16:59 - 6186 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 26 Nov 2005 18:02 - 6194 of 10502

Aussies just scored under the posts against the welsh - 1 more score to cover the 9.5 handicap :-)

Dil - 26 Nov 2005 21:45 - 6195 of 10502

hope you saw sense and got out Fundy :-)

Fundamentalist - 26 Nov 2005 21:49 - 6196 of 10502

Dil

got out and reversed it :-) - feels horrible to win money on the welsh but it soon became apparent that the Aussie front 5 are truly appalling and despite tuqiri making a break every time he got the ball i had to back the welsh. Fair play to their forwards who did a nice job on the aussie front 5

just watched the France SA game - another cracker. Cant see any of the home nations troubling the french at the mo

Dil - 26 Nov 2005 21:56 - 6197 of 10502

They don't travel well , always struggled to beat us in Cardiff even when we were crap.

Finished 1/2 hour ago on the horses, have been explaining to a fastinated audience what I have been doing for the last 1/2 hour.

Scripophilist - 27 Nov 2005 16:26 - 6201 of 10502

Only problem I have here is I don't have SKY!

What happened there on the West Ham vs Man U match? Saw it was suspended for a bit but don't know why. (I am aware of the goal)

sealed - 27 Nov 2005 16:53 - 6202 of 10502

O'shea fouled (booked) right on the edge of the penalty area. I guess betfair thought there was chance of last man and red card.
