Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

"too young for me , marky"

"there's swathes of sellers lined up between 40 and 41"

.........and all this on a "Desire" thread?

Wonderful!

cynic - 13 Apr 2011 11:00 - 6190 of 6492

Sequestor - 13 Apr 2011 11:12 - 6191 of 6492

the pump and dumpers won that round hands down, even a 10% filter shows sells/buys 2.5/1,more pumping needed

<:0}

cynic - 13 Apr 2011 11:20 - 6192 of 6492

as it stands, L2 book shows as you indicate, which could mean any number of things, from other peeps have some (bad) inside knowledge to shorting-peeps setting stop-loss positions to bull-peeps setting limits to bank good profits ..... pays yer money, takes yer choice

Sequestor - 13 Apr 2011 12:32 - 6193 of 6492

Aye,
but the money can move in mysterious ways,I may today close at a small/medium loss,or let the trade go into buy mode, sell and rollover, or go down the puib and forget the whole thing.

Hmmm

choices, choices!

kimoldfield - 13 Apr 2011 12:36 - 6194 of 6492

Pub! :o)

HARRYCAT - 13 Apr 2011 12:50 - 6195 of 6492

I second that. Pub. Then you will be in a fit state to make crucial decisions! ;o)

Sequestor - 13 Apr 2011 13:03 - 6196 of 6492

No I said puib, not pub, much is lost in translation, so asking is futile

:0(

Sequestor - 13 Apr 2011 15:28 - 6197 of 6492

I took the loss and closed,

watching with hands aggressively sat upon.

markymar - 13 Apr 2011 15:33 - 6198 of 6492

Need another good rumour on iii to get this going any chance someone can pop over and start one,i think it maybe blue by the end of the day.

markymar - 13 Apr 2011 15:48 - 6199 of 6492

In to the blue knocking on the door of that big sell intresting to see what happens here......i wait with baited breath

cynic - 13 Apr 2011 15:56 - 6200 of 6492

baited with what? rotting fish guts, or is that just your usual halitosis??
try "bated"

cynic - 14 Apr 2011 13:46 - 6201 of 6492

the order book is not dissimilar from yesterday with sellers showing 3 x bidders ..... have therefore banked a very small profit but (foolishly?) retained RKH

jades101 - 14 Apr 2011 14:50 - 6202 of 6492

I am fairly new on this board.
A question following on from cynic's observation re: sellers and bidders.
The level 2 order book for DES show many 100,00's of shares are at prices which are ridiculously high. Is that a distortion of the reality - loading it in favour of sellers or am I missing something.

jades101 - 14 Apr 2011 14:53 - 6203 of 6492

.... p.s. I am still learning - could it also be short sellers putting an order in to sell in case of a strike or am I misunderstanding that idea.

cynic - 14 Apr 2011 14:56 - 6204 of 6492

it's merely an indicator that there's plenty more peeps who want to be shot of the stock than want to buy it ..... go to RRL and you'll see the reverse, though not quite as exaggerated

HARRYCAT - 14 Apr 2011 15:27 - 6205 of 6492

Surely all traders will be hedging this one, based on the sp could go either way, depending on a strike or not? There should be quite a few limit orders (or stops) on the books which will hopefully trigger, though in the event of a 'miss' I can imagine the sp going down too fast.

required field - 14 Apr 2011 17:36 - 6206 of 6492

That's the trouble....it will go past your stoploss and stop you out at the bottom...sometimes with a ten minute delay....it's happened to me.....

markymar - 15 Apr 2011 10:55 - 6207 of 6492

Need a new rumour from iii, looking a little perky today.
