SUPERSCAPE - TECHNOLOGY FOR THE FUTURE. (SPS)

Happy1 - 03 Mar 2004 22:47

Superscape was founded nearly twenty years ago, and has been dedicated throughout its history to the development of ground-breaking software technology for the creation and delivery of innovative, high quality interactive 3D applications.
Over the years, Superscape has amassed unparalleled expertise and experience in the development of 3D software capable of working within the constraints of limited memory devices, slow processor speeds and strictly controlled file sizes.

Drawing on this knowledge, Superscape has established a world-leading position in the development of industry-standard 3D technology and applications for mobile devices. The company's Swerve technology has been developed specifically for wireless environments in close collaboration with ARM, and comprises a 3D engine (Swerve Client), authoring tools (Swerve Studio) and a broad portfolio of 3D content, with particular emphasis on 3D games. Swerve is being adopted on a global basis by many of the mobile industry's leading players, together with world-renowned content and brand organisations.

Superscape has corporate headquarters in Hook, Hampshire (UK) and San Clemente, California (USA) with regional offices in Tokyo and Sydney. The company is quoted on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: SPS).

Superscape (SPS) has received various tips in the press and by Analysts recently which will certainly give impetous to the share price. Indicators are looking good with the RSI rising off an oversold position and the MACD crossing showing BULLISH signs for the stock.

The mobile gaming market is still in it's infancy but the projected revenue is enormous. Mobile operators are looking at tapping the Gameboy market as they feel that users will not want to carry around a multitude of technology and if they have a mobile phone which can double as a gaming station than people will prefer this option.

People should also look at the recent contracts which SPS have signed for their technology. This is a technology company which could well be a great success in 2004.

Killik Mornining Note

Another mention by Killik today:
Superscape - Distribution Agreement

Superscape announced late yesterday that it has a signed a revenue sharing royalty distribution agreement for the company's 3D mobile games titles with a leading US network operator. This is the first distribution contract for Superscape with a network operator and a key element in the process of bringing the company's Swerve-based games to the mass consumer market. The games will become available during the next three months and will run on mass market handsets from leading manufacturers.

The market has responded strongly to this announcement for a couple of reasons. Firstly, CEO Kevin Roberts highlighted the fact that they are in advanced negotiations with other leading operators with further announcements due. Secondly, although no numbers were quoted, the company did say that Superscape will enjoy the majority of the revenue sharing royalties based upon consumer demand for the titles.

From The Telegraph

Superscape, the 3D software group, signed a distribution agreement with a US network operator and rose 4 to 32.5. Traders speculated the deal was with Verizon, adding Superscape was tipped in an investment magazine.

Tick up again. Few more buys and 34p offer

ehall - 30 Apr 2004 13:50 - 66 of 707

Good support at this level, SPS has previously had weak support but given the news flow, support is not surprising. Nice to see IC eat humble pie, they got SPS totally wrong and I guess some sold at low levels as a result of shorting due to their article, they should be more accountable and act responsibly. I would like them or shares to publish a detailed article listing best and worse case scenarios, the trouble with SPS is assigning a value to the company as nobody knows how big it could be, come on shares, do your stuff!

Happy1 - 30 Apr 2004 13:52 - 67 of 707

ehall valid post and one thing that you will notice is that the IC articles have not been researched fully and that the author really does not have a clue about the technology or market potential.

Happy1 - 30 Apr 2004 13:55 - 68 of 707

Nice of them to drop the offer to let the 182K buy in

Watch out Nintendo gameboy, bad luck for Nokia N-gage, the humble mobile phone is set to storm the game-playing market with a flood of high-quality games for downloading.
Leading the charge is Superscape (SPS), which has a unique software for squeezing chunks of data down a slender mobile connection. It has 12 million net cash. This company will soar. Buy at 32.5p.

Movilnet to Offer Subscribers Full-Featured BREW-Enabled Wireless Handsets

28th April , 2004

ASIA : QUALCOMM Incorporated, pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, congratulates Venezuelan operator Movilnet on the successful launch of wireless data services based on QUALCOMM's BREW solution. Movilnet is a Cantv company and provider of products and services for voice, data, Internet access, cellular telephony and telephone directories.

Movilnet's new BREW-based "3rd Generation Services" allow the company's 2.8 million wireless subscribers to browse and download a variety of applications -- such as e-mail, entertainment, communication services, games and ringtones -- on their wireless devices using the operator's third- generation (3G) CDMA2000(R) 1X network.

"The flexibility afforded by QUALCOMM's BREW system is ideal for offering value-added services to our customers in a quick and cost-effective manner," said Jose Maria De Viana, president of Movilnet. "The launch of our 3rd Generation Services demonstrates our commitment to bringing the industry's best 3G wireless applications to our subscribers. With these exciting new products and services, such as real-time Internet Web cam and video services, we anticipate these services will be met with great enthusiasm from users throughout Venezuela."

Since the BREW system allows content developers to build applications in a variety of languages, including Spanish, Movilnet can offer products and services specifically designed for the Venezuelan market. "3rd Generation Services" subscribers can initially select from four different BREW-enabled handsets, Kyocera Slider, 3245 and 3225, and Motorola T-730 color phones, immediately available by Movilnet.

"As one of the first operators in South America to deploy a CDMA2000 1X network, and by bringing BREW-based services to Venezuela, Movilnet has set the bar for advanced 3G services in the region," said Marcelo Valdez, regional director of Americas, QUALCOMM Internet Services. "QUALCOMM is thrilled that Movilnet chose the BREW system to power 3rd Generation Services. We look
forward to working closely with the Movilnet team and we are pleased with the new opportunities it creates for the growing community of global developers."

QUALCOMM's BREW system provides products and services that connect the mobile marketplace value chain, which includes application developers, publishers, content providers, device manufacturers, operators and consumers. Publishers and developers worldwide are generating revenue from BREW-based
applications and content, and 26 manufacturers have offered more than 135 BREW-enabled device models to consumers. Movilnet Venezuela joins many very successful operators that have deployed commercial BREW-based wireless data services, including Verizon Wireless, ALLTEL, Cellular One, MetroPCS, Midwest Wireless and U.S. Cellular in the United States; China Unicom, KDDI in Japan, KTF in South Korea, Hutchison Wireless CAT in Thailand, Telstra in Australia, VIVO in Brazil, BellSouth International, Telefonica Moviles in Peru, Movicom in Argentina, Verizon in the Dominican Republic, Verizon Wireless Puerto Rico and Pelephone in Israel.

ELSPA ANNOUNCES NEW MOBILE GAMES CHART
As mobile phone gaming becomes ever more popular, ELSPA (Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association) today announced the launch of its brand new chart reflecting the nations favourite games to play on the go.

ELSPA, which issues its Official UK Leisure Software Charts compiled by Chart-Track for PC and console games software on a weekly basis, has initiated this new monthly chart in response to the lack of official, reliable data on mobile games sales. It is anticipated the chart will enable the industry to gauge market performance in a previously unmonitored area, as well as providing consumers with a method of choosing and tracking the top games.

The chart will be based upon the sales figures for Java downloads, supplied initially by the four key mobile operators: O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone. It is estimated that they currently command approximately 80 percent of the mobile games download market.

Simon Dean, Head of Games, O2 commented, This marks the beginning of a new era of cooperation and openness between operators. The chart reflects the increased penetration of mobile games with consumers, and demonstrates the mobile games network becoming a unified area of the gaming industry. We are delighted to be a part of it.

Mark Ashford, UK Head of Music and Games, Orange remarked, At long last it is the consumer who decides on the status of the games. We hope the chart will enable mobile games players to decide on the most popular games and will aid them in their purchasing decisions.

Graham Thomas, Vice President of Content Services, T-Mobile stated: We welcome that ELSPA is driving this initiative. Mobile is an exciting, easy-to-use and ubiquitous gaming platform and a great addition to the traditional games industry. This chart will serve to prove that mobile gaming is a growing market with the potential to generate substantial revenues.

Al Russell, Head of Content Services, Vodafone commented, Mobile games are here to stay. The introduction of this new chart recognises the mobile games industrys established customer base and demonstrates our swift progress from being an initially niche market to a multi-million pound industry.

Michael Rawlinson, deputy director general of ELSPA commented, The mobile games chart is a natural extension of ELSPAs existing chart range. We are pleased to recognise mobile gaming as an established and ever-growing sector of the games industry, and are confident the chart will prove beneficial for both the industry and consumers alike.
