THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Richard Murphy, the self styled economist, who creates Corbyn's economic plans has said the Corbyn will sack the governor of the BoE if he refuses to print free money. Richard Murphy is a tax accountant. He published an article in the Guardian telling people how to avoid paying tax and Ni when employing a nanny. He advises the TUC and Unite on tax affairs.

Hays,

do you use him?

Fred1new - 24 Aug 2015 16:29 - 62090 of 81564

I blame Cameron and Osborne for the collapse of the stock market.

If they hadn't been on holidays they could have prevented it, just like they blamed Brown for his failures and incompetence.

What a government of charlatans.

Haystack
what date did Richard Murphy published the article. Very interested to read.
Thanks

Here it is

Here is his wiki entry. It is worth reading.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Murphy_(accountant)

Murphy has been criticised for arrangements used in conducting his own tax affairs, such as supplying research work through a company, Fulcrum Publishing Ltd[13] not paying business rates on business premises[14] as well as writing articles in The Guardian on minimising tax in situations such as being self-employed or employing a nanny.

Haystack - 24 Aug 2015 17:21 - 62094 of 81564

If Corbyn gets elected, his reliance on a chancer like Murphy is going to slap him in the face.

welfare system and its cost
it is abundantly clear, except to the likes of fred and corbyn, that it is totally unsustainable in its present form, and if left alone, the problem can only get worse

however, there is equally no doubt that any attempt to cut the costs will be met with great cries of grief and horror, not only from the usual suspects but also, not necessarily unreasonably, from the recipients whose benefits are affected

from a firsthand perspective (my tenant), after a huge struggle and about 3 years, he managed to secure a part-time job, albeit on minimum wage ...... i think his partner has also found some hours in child-minding or similar

as it stands, they are actually little or no better off, but emotionally and psychologically, they are both chuffed to bits that they are getting themselves off the benefits roundabout

the chap is keeping his fingers crossed that, in a few months time, he will have shown himself as a good and hard worker and will become full time .... also in april (i think) the minimum wage increases, so then his perseverance will indeed show fruit

I'm beginning to wish Labour had won ,maybe Fred would have lightened up .

Fred1new - 25 Aug 2015 10:59 - 62101 of 81564

It seems obvious the problem lies in the reflections by yourself!

Unless you are a neo-con, the following remark may be worth considering!

“The world has enough for everyone's need, but not enough for everyone's greed.”

jimmy b - 25 Aug 2015 11:17 - 62102 of 81564

I'm with you Fred , and most politicians are tossers ,it's just do you need to post day after day after day .

cynic - 25 Aug 2015 11:32 - 62103 of 81564

fred and corbyn may want to raise taxes to the sky to fund a lovely cotton-wool welfare system, and fondly believe that this will not be counter-productive ...... history shows otherwise
