How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Fundamentalist - 28 Nov 2005 01:41 - 6219 of 10502

All i can see is a tiny piece of the chart, not the whole chart

Fundamentalist - 28 Nov 2005 01:43 - 6220 of 10502

and now Sarwan gets a shocker - glad i hedged by selling session runs

Harlosh - 28 Nov 2005 01:45 - 6221 of 10502

All you need to see is the breakout, when it happens, above the blue line. Then buy buy buy.

Fundamentalist - 28 Nov 2005 01:49 - 6222 of 10502

i bought a few years ago!!!

Faucon drilling end of next month - itll be one hell of a breakout if that hits (should have a nav of about 350-400p but only a 20-25% chance)

Anyone trading the horses today, it looks like Wolverhampton first race is going to be about 15 mins late and this will prob have a knock on effect through the card

Scripophilist - 28 Nov 2005 13:01 - 6226 of 10502

Yes I am, Snow being the trouble at Wolverhampton. Going to be a bit of a lottery.

Fundamentalist - 28 Nov 2005 13:07 - 6227 of 10502

Were you watching the 1pm - horse traded at 1.03 only had last to jump and ran out through the wing

Scripophilist - 28 Nov 2005 13:13 - 6228 of 10502

I was, another classic moment. Though it looked a little nervous on the prior jump.

Still heavy snow at Wolverhamption I can't see the meet continuing at the moment, can you?

Scripophilist - 28 Nov 2005 13:13 - 6229 of 10502

I grabbed the graph for later analysis.

Scripophilist - 28 Nov 2005 13:15 - 6230 of 10502

I was just thinking, what do you think will happen at 13:20? I can imagine people trading elsewhere in the world not knowing that there is heavy snow in the West Midlands.

Fundamentalist - 28 Nov 2005 13:17 - 6231 of 10502

Scrip

should continue - its an all weather track!!!!! seriously think they will struggle if it continues

very strange race that, Sword lady one of the 2 favs made a hue blunder early on and never travelled afterwards, the other fav was going well then run out about 4 from home and then the third fav with the race at its mercy runs out through the wing of the last fence - a contrarian traders dream !!!

Fundamentalist - 28 Nov 2005 13:18 - 6232 of 10502

doesnt look a great race so ive moved onto the 1.30 to see if there is much movement in the 1.3 shot

Fundamentalist - 28 Nov 2005 13:21 - 6233 of 10502

do you get the feeling snow wolf has been backed into favouritism for another reason than form :-)

Scripophilist - 28 Nov 2005 13:24 - 6234 of 10502

I would have thought most would be laying snow wolf. Or perhaps looking to oppose clearing sky?

Fundamentalist - 28 Nov 2005 13:25 - 6235 of 10502

gonna be one of them days lol

bit of a gamble on majestical
