Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

fred - it could be that many of us find them just plain tedious and, in essence, totally repetitive day after day after day after day ....... yes, one can skip past them, as i do, but they take up an inordinate amount of page space and, if i am not much mistaken, also cause the page to display badly over-width

max and MrT ...... squatting is assuredly not a new problem. but one that to my certain knowledge, was arguably even more common in the 70s
that the police cannot be bothered with the average break in and similar is certainly true, but then the chances of them finding the culprits are generally minimal
however, one also hears cases where clear CCTV footage is provided, but still nothing is done, or at least not by the police

i have tried engaging you in another conversation about your travels but you just carry on being (as cynic says above)being just plain tedious .

cynic once again you miss the point. I was warning posters of the scumbags being given info from taxi company employees telling people the homes are empty be aware
who you use to get to the airport .

you're right; i did miss your point
we are always very careful indeed whom we tell, and would certainly never ever tell the police
fortunately both my neighbour and ourselves have good cctv and it's well signed, and burglar alarm of course ...... we also live in a sort of cul-de-sac, all of which are likely to deter all but the most determined (no point) or stupid (who'll get caught)

Beat this one.........
The struggles of the world's hairiest family
Jesus Aceves was born with a rare condition that means he has thick hair all over his face. About 30 members of his family also have hypertrichosis making them almost certainly the hairiest family in human history. They feature in a documentary Chuy, The Wolf Man by film-maker Eva Aridjis which is being released in Mexico this month.

MrT - i think it is close on 80% of the immigrants are actually eu citizens, and this of course is one of the major problems ..... as has been pointed out by others, it's fine for them to come into uk if they already have a job lined up which does not require welfare subsidy, but another matter entirely if they are coming purely on spec and then intend and expect to benefit from the system

I have read that some emigrants are fleeing to Birmingham and using the "social" and schools. I think there is a need for razor wire fences to keep them out. We don't want a bloody Londoners abusing our resources.
I think bringing back the concentration camps of the 30s and 40s would solve the problems.

we have over 1.6m unemployed looking for work we have nigh on 800 000 on zero hours who can not get a real job . the avge private rent is over £650 a month all those on benefits can not afford the rent . so how can we take in more immigrants and house them we can not look after the ones all ready here .
we can not take the world we are full services are struggling the only way is to increase taxes for those on over 25k by 5p in the pound yes lets tax the people who work lets tax all corner shops all restaurants by 10% more .
lets put up council tax by 25%
the public would be happy to pay more to help others

One of the problems with large numbers of immigrants coming to a borderless Europe, is that many may ISIL terrorists. It is easy to cross Syria to Turkey and then overland to the EU. How many terrorists are waiting in Calais or have made it to the UK already? This is a problem that is going to bite us and the EU.

Look at London and the amount of Russian and Chinese Mafia money sloshing around there.
Forgot that is OK, they are con donors!
Fences won't keep criminals out, although they may reduce the numbers.

the lab fav says all homes under occupied will be forced to sell up and move to
smaller homes one bedroom per couple or pay tax on ever room of at least £50 a week per room . great idea it will free up homes for families to breed more
