THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

You are sensitive flowers!

Cartoons are generally meant to offend and I suggest you look the meaning or suggestions contained in them.

Many take offence and the prefer not examine the truth or morality in the perceived actions.

But each unto their own.

As far as the MAM site quality is concerned, it is having a problem or two since "rewriting! its programmes etc.. "And loss of GF."

But it is quiet to a difficult market and "holiday" period.

But you could always start your own site, you might get a few followers. Personally I think it provides an amazing quality of information.

C+P my likening of you to Hitler.

Was it because you wanted to dictate to others what you think they should do????

As pointed out you can always use the squelch buttons.

Corbyn, grew up in a well to do family in the country, went to a private prep school, did not go to university, attended a polytechnic for a while with no qualification. He became a Councillor for Haringey and was there for a few years. He has no government experience apart from voting against his own party more than 500 times.

He has a nutty brother, Piers, who is a climate change denier that lives in a tiny council flat in Elephant and Castle. Here is his web site.

Here iis a quote on his website

"The onset of the Mini-Ice-Age contiuing to 2035 is ineviatble - and no amount of data-fraud by the UN and camp-followers in academia, baseless propaganda by BBC and AlJazeera, inane green religious piety by politicians or anti-science diktats - echoing the terror the Catholic Church and Inquisition meted-out to Galileo and other 'heretics' by the Pope; can stop it." he said

"The Pope's Encyclical pronouncements on #ClimateChange are the work of The Devil and - like the Papal Inquisition against #Galileo in 1633 - place baseless and deluded belief and Lies (eg from UN Climate Committee the IPCC) above observed scientific fact. We challenge the Pope (or his agents) to public debate on the science." said Piers

That is to say - no private work experience, no private business experience,
no real Government experience, plus not much dress sense, unartistic,
and has a nutty brother.

Sounds to me like he will be OK to lead the Labour party -
lets give him the job, and we will see the end of Labour party forever !

more, especially more and more and more and more, quickly becomes tedious and thus completely loses whatever point was trying to be made

No increase in Syrian refugee numbers – public

Most British people say there should be no increase in admissions of Syrian refugees – and concerns over immigration have reached an all-time high

David Cameron gave in to pressure to increase the number of Syrian refugees Britain takes on Friday – he now is reportedly prepared to accept 15,000 – after a week in which hundreds of thousands of refugees entered Germany and other European countries – and the continent was stirred by a picture of a drowned Syrian child washed up on a beach. Some British newspapers that are traditionally averse to accepting asylum seekers were moved by the picture, urging readers to help.

New YouGov research for the Sun reveals that most British people do not want more Syrian refugees in Britain. Slightly more than a third (36%) say Britain should admit higher numbers than it has recently, but 51% say it should not.

These divide between the 24% of people who want the numbers to remain as now – Britain has accepted nearly 5,000 over the last four years – and those who want there to be a reduction in numbers (13%) or a complete hold. (14%).

Syrians account for the largest proportion of refugees in the current crisis, but there are also hundreds of thousands from Afghanistan, Kosovo, Eritrea, Serbia and other countries. 28% say Britain should accept more of these refugees, while 60% say we should not.

Regarding people in search of a better life, but not fleeing conflict or persecution, only 5% say we should accept higher numbers than recently. Of these, 37% say we should not accept any at all and 30% say we should accept fewer than recently.

Of the people who can put a number on how many Syrian refugees Britain should take, 50% say it should be zero.

Only 21% of the public say David Cameron has handled the crisis well, compared to 45% who say he has handled it badly.

Most British people (52%) would support Britain playing a greater military role in bringing an end to war in Syria. 22% would oppose this.

There has been a large increase in the proportion of people who say immigration is the most important issue facing the country. The economy is usually the number one issue, however 71% now say immigration is – the highest level since YouGov began asking the question in 2010 – compared to 35% for the economy.

Geldof’s promise of shelter for refugees is ‘pie in the sky’, says local government chief

Leading figure in LGA asks: ‘Were these people ready yesterday to take any of those on the housing waiting list?’

Daniel Boffey Policy editor

Saturday 5 September 2015 20.20 BST

David Cameron has been warned by the Conservative-run Local Government Association that he must take into account the significant impact on schools, housing and GPs’ surgeries of allowing thousands more refugees into the country.

David Simmonds, chairman of the LGA’s asylum, migration and refugee task force, which coordinates councils’ integration of newcomers to the UK, said it was easy to say that “something must be done”, but that the costs attached to taking in more people had to be recognised.

He added that the offer from the rock star Bob Geldof to put up families in his homes in Kent and London was “pie in sky”.

“If Bob Geldof is willing to make that offer, I’m sure his local council, which will already have a lot of people on its housing waiting list, will be very happy to bring them around this afternoon.”

Fred is a tropical storm in the atlantic !....one to watch......I wish the BBC and ITV would stop promoting these people that are invading us because more will want to come....how about somebody starting a stop the migrant cause with some tv promotion instead of the usual crap they put out....?....

required field - 06 Sep 2015 21:06 - 62342 of 81564

We are always admiring our great past/history but can you imagine those wonderful people putting up with what the british public do nowadays......this migrant problem would be dealt with swiftly and promptly....I would stop the boats...if they were sinking as they always are : I would give them new rubber boats/zodiacs...that sort of thing and turn them around.....this problem will not go away unless drastic mesures are taken and the do-gooders get less tv help/promotion...this must be stopped.....

Haystack - 06 Sep 2015 21:49 - 62343 of 81564

It is interesting to remember that the child that drowned and was found on the beach was on a small boat trying to get to Greece from Turkey. They had already escaped Syria as many have. They did not want to stay in Turkey, but wanted to travel to more prosperous countries.

The outpouring of emotion for this family has been generated by the press and is somewhat hypocritical. There have been reports of immigrants drowning on a daily basis; sometimes hundreds at a time including women, children and babies. What did people think was happening to the bodies? Apparently, it is not a problem if people do not see pictures of of it.
