required field - 14 Jul 2010 13:55

It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

Could be worse you could have gone for Coleman. Wonderful job he's doing at Sunderland.

Joe Say - 16 Apr 2018 08:36 - 6235 of 6918

Congrats to City - clearly the best team this year by a mile

with us as a close second

:)

I thought I saw Stan's spot at Turf Moor last night but then someone moved and I could make out the D. He's been awol for a while, I hope he hasn't fallen off that flybridge

Millwall beat Fulham tonight and we could be promoted Tuesday.

Come on Millwall , nobody loves you except Cardiff !!!

Well it looks like Southgate is going to get the chop !.......(chuuuut...quiet....musn't say anything about that being the reason why Wenger is supposedly retiring early....all hush...hush...and that).....seriously it would be wonderful for him if the Gunners could make it to the Europa final but by golly they will have to fight for it !....Atletico will not be easy.....

Dil - 22 Apr 2018 10:52 - 6239 of 6918

One win needed in our next 2 games which are away to Derby Tuesday and away to Hull next Saturday will leave our destiny in our own hands two weeks today home to Reading.

The Gunners might be considering Gordon Strachan......as they did win things (cup winners cup springs to mind in 1994....made my summer a little more bearable as we were not at the world cup that year)... with George Graham prior to Arsene Wenger's appointment !.....he has (I've said this before : passion like no other...it could come from his time with Leeds Utd....)...priceless...that's what Arsenal need .....

required field - 25 Apr 2018 11:40 - 6241 of 6918

Phenomenal by Liverpool last night....but they will need at least one away goal I reckon .....

KidA - 27 Apr 2018 11:05 - 6242 of 6918

Roma wide open, perfect for Liverpool. Condense the space, wait 65 minutes, attack - Liverpool struggle and give you goals.

Cheers,
KidA

Win the last game of the season at home to Reading and we get promoted ... what could possibly go wrong ????

ExecLine - 29 Apr 2018 13:09 - 6244 of 6918

Northampton Town triumphed yet again!

- in that they managed, yet again, and for the 'Nth time', to give away another goal in the final minute or so of the match. Unbelievable!

This time, the cost of doing it means 'Relegation!'

Dil - 04 May 2018 23:22 - 6245 of 6918

Kids picked their new pup up today.

We win Sunday and I'm calling him Warnock regardless of what the kids name him :-)

Maybe we should start a 'Snooker thread"?

Last night I started watching the 'David Haye versus Tony Bellew' fight on Sky Box Office - but I had great trouble leaving the World Snooker Semi-Final match between Mark Williams and Barry Hawkins on BBC2 to do so.

This snooker match was so stressful and so close.

It got to 16:16, and with the winner just requiring to win one more game to go through to the Final with John Higgins, both players kept making easy misses and also making poor white ball positional shots too. They had so much difficulty in keeping focus because of the great stress involved and the consequences of their own poor play being so serious.

Higgins can certainly keep his act together at this level, whereas Williams and Hawkins (who have both won the competition before) couldn't, and so i conclude, Higgins should 'walk it'!

Anyway, coming back to the boxing.....

IMHO, I felt Hayes had 'conned everybody' concerning his fitness! His right leg failed him yet again, making it very difficult for him to keep his balance whilst throwing his punches. Bellew didn't have too much trouble and knocked him out in the 5th round.

Of course, both fighters made a packet of ££££££££££££ for their efforts. However, I don't think we will see David Hayes in the ring ever again.

Hmmm?

Perhaps not just a 'Snooker' thread then, but maybe a 'General Sports' thread instead? Just occasionally, the 'roundy-roundy' stuff on F1 can get to be very exciting too!

Apologies for posting on here.

Edit: And apologies too, for failing to mention it was Mark Williams who won the snooker semi-final.

Congratulations Dil.

Dil - 06 May 2018 21:39 - 6248 of 6918

Cheers iturama but bugger me those barriers seemed two foot higher today when we invaded the pitch than they did when we last did it 5 years ago.

Best laugh was my kids and their mates boyfriends sending them photos and videos of their parents celebrating on the pitch. Didn't have any of that crap 35 years ago when there was only 9000 on the pitch celebrating going up to old division two May Bank Holiday Monday !!!

Hope Fulham win the play offs.

iturama - 07 May 2018 07:18 - 6249 of 6918

Yes, Fulham were far and away the third best. They deserve to go up.

Joe Say - 07 May 2018 08:13 - 6250 of 6918

Congratulations Dil - rivalries aside its good to have a couple of decent supported clubs back in the prem

Personally want Villa back for similar reasons (and the return of JT)

Dil - 07 May 2018 09:37 - 6251 of 6918

Cheers Joe , massive achievement and all down to Warnock. Our team yesterday cost less than £5 million to assemble I think.

Joe Say - 08 May 2018 08:18 - 6252 of 6918

You could buy Bakayoko for that

Dil - 08 May 2018 09:49 - 6253 of 6918

Wouldn't mind having that Welsh centre half kid off you on a season long loan. Looked pretty decent the couple of times I've seen him play.

Silly season already started at Cardiff ... Ramsey's coming home , Rooney not happy with his manager so he's joining us and discussions are on going about a loan deal for Bale :-)
