Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Peter Hitchens Claims David Cameron Has 'No Interest In Changing Anything'
The Huffington Post UK |
By Aubrey Allegretti
Posted: 07/09/2015 22:35 BST Updated: 07/09/2015 23:59 BST
Journalist and author Peter Hitchens has laid into David Cameron brutally, claiming the Prime Minister has "no interest in changing anything" and tries to keep only upper-class men in high Government posts.
In a wide-ranging interview with Guardian columnist Owen Jones, the brother of the late famed atheist Christopher Hitchens also accused the Tory leader of orchestrating a clever, costly election campaign which only won him the May general election on points, rather than as the result of a moral victory.
While he insisted the Prime Minister was a "perfectly nice chap", Hitchens claimed that Cameron did not stand for anything and decried the UK for being a bankrupt, non-sovereign and country robbed of both its culture and its past.

Manuel,
If I did respond to your request, probably you wouldn't understand it and I ain't going to waste my time.
But will refer you back a few years to when I suggested the need for a reorganised UN with a Policing Authority and Force and change of "constitution" and "function" with removal "vetoing" powers.
Of course in your normal manner you pooh-poohed such ideas as "utopian" and decried any moves in the direction as non-sensical.
Suggest you reread the post and your response.

What I am surprised about is the absence of USA commentary on the ME and Immigration.
I feel the USA and the UK has a responsibility for the chaos in the M.E. and Ukraine and, therefore, a duty for care, even if some have to unzip their pockets.
(The Iraq war was a disaster and further interference in the ME is possibly compounding the problems, unless confined to Humanitarian intervention. But the bully boys and medlars and pirates want to plunder once again.)
Another point (for me), is that if you look at the appalling UK social conditions in the 30s, (Irish immigration), post WW2 immigration in 45-50 period and other immigrations in 50s, 60s, 70s, although there was some dissent the majority of the population were accepting of the new-comers. They were not a drain.
It takes courage and initiative to uproot oneself from a country and move to another in the hope of a better life.
There may be some crooks in the newcomers, but compared with the Russian and Chinese Mafia readily accepted into London I wonder how many. They can be weeded out.
(The economy benefitted from such.)

no fred, you did not answer 62417
harking back to "several years ago" does not address the here and now and the specific
no doubt in your usual supercilious manner, you will continue to pretend, at least to yourself, that you have answered ...... nothing like being self-delusional, but in actuality just refusing to pin your colours to the mast

however, it is right and proper that gov'ts can and do keep under wraps highly sensitive info - eg intelligence

Manuel
Responding to you needs when you have so many is not to my taste.
Suggest you review what was written and justify your responses to yourself.
As far as pinning my colours to the mast, I prefer to have my independence of thought, than to be a common market profiteer with greed and personal self-advancement at the expense of others, as his motivator.

Bollocks.
with a crew as corrupt as the present governing self-advancing cabal "governing" the UK, all the "books" should be open to scrutiny.
As should the Chilcot report!

as expected, a complete non-answer and evasion of the question raised
you're great at telling everyone what is wrong and similar, but not so hot what it comes to giving a view as to to what should be done in a specific situation - as now
i believe your father was a union official and party activist ...... he taught you well in the art of politico-speak and how to evade direct questions, but it carries little weight here
