Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

At the heart of it all is the free money benefits system, it's simply too tempting.

There is much talk about the economic benefits of immigration. That may be so, although I think the figures are very selective. That discussion leaves out the problems it causes. Our schools are overcrowded with not enough places for new pupils. Our doctors surgeries are bursting at the seams with long waiting lists and the same is true of our hospitals. Our infrastructure is overloaded in every direction. Sufficient housing has become a problem.
If we have 60m plus people and not enough housing then one cause is just too many people. Housing was far less of a problem when we has around 50m people. I have had cause to visit the Royal Free hospital in Hampstead on a regular basis over the last two years. I pass through reception then up through a couple of floors then down corridors through various departments. The situation is the same. The hospital population is dominated by immigrants. You hardly hear English spoken anywhere. The department that I visit is Opthalmology and I have counted the immigrants several times while there. The proportion is around 80%. The same is true of the Whittington in Highgate. I have had conversations with my GP about this. His experience is similar. The quality of health of the immigrants is much lower than our general population and they have recourse to the NHS to a disproportionate extent.
Some years ago I knew a teacher in North London who taught at a primary school. She was paid extra because she was teaching special needs children with some having language skill trouble due to family ethnicity. She was the only teacher in the school getting that extra pay. Getting paid that extra premium is now the norm for the majority of inner city schools.

We only need a passport because the UK insists on it and we are not signatories to the Schengen Agreement. Once we are across the Channel we can also go anywhere in the EU without a passport.

Coffee break so back at you. In Manchester today, first time in a few years. Looking good all action. Anyone from Salford.??
Tanker see you're your cheerfully self. Sounds like you're just waiting to say you told us so. Shame on you , go see about that attitude.
Hays next time you're in the hospital check out how many doctors, nurses, cleaners are from overseas. NHS looking for5000 GPS. UK medical students don't want to be GPS. Where do we get them. New schools reqd who is going to build them.
If UK has 65million plus need to be building 300k +a year. Built less than140k last year. Short 500k houses who is going to build them. Construction employers need200k plus workers from labourers to designers UK kids can't get off their arses.
Wish I could help but only pick up the crumbs from the big boys.
Come on stop the bitching start lifting your share.

will10,
You're totally missing the point here.
Sure, from a personal viewpoint, I don't see why the UK and the EU should give two hoots about the migrants. And, as I said yesterday, I would tow them back to sea and leave them off the coast of North Africa. That would certainly act as a deterrent.
But the point you are missing is that these are not just my views, and the vast majority of the great British public feel exactly the same way as I do. You've only got to look at the posts on this thread, and the low esteem (bordering upon contempt) in which you are held based solely upon your immigration views, to see that. And ditto, the YouGov poll that Haystack posted a few days ago supports all that. A couple of days ago there was another report saying that
racial hate crimes in the UK had spiked, mainly directed against muslims. I'm certainly not condoning that, but it's not rocket science to see why it's happening - the indigenous Brits have, plainly and simply, had enough.
So, you are clearly in the minority with your views. The British public voted for a government which would be firm on immigration, so they really don't give Jack Shit for the views of the minority, and they won't do at least until 2020 (and probably longer if Corbyn wins control of the Labour party).

Victim. Yes I am a house builder but small scale only built 10 _12 a year. Had bad years and good. Doubt I'll make a fortune. If you got off your lardy arse you would get reward for your input in whatever venture you undertook. Get a grip man how could someone putting a more balanced view on helping refugees make money. Most inner city conversions I do get bought up by trendy hipsters.

Wil,
Many would consider condemnation from the Hairy One and her mates as praise.
Again, the opinions she gathers from her mates does not seem to coincide with many I meet.
I think the public has more attractive morality than the wandering dross of society.
-=-=-=
Also, reflect back to acceptance of the Irish immigrants, West Indian, (in general the Jews) Ugandan Asians, Chinese etc.. And recognise how they integrated into society and are accepted.
There are always hot heads like the BNP, UKIP neo-fascists who pursue their own "ideology".
Overall, the UK has benefitted from immigration.
==-=-==-=-=
Hays,
Hospital outpatients appointments will vary in ethnicity according to the area which they serve.
Check the clinics list against national statistics overall.
Also, check numbers of "overseas" medical and nursing staff and auxiliaries against overall UK population.

Hairy One, are you avoiding tax payments from your Uk earnings by being an itinerant?

Hilary I'm arguing for a human approach to helping refugees. Where did you get the mass immigration from? When your grand daughter asks you granny where were you on helping the boat people I doubt you will be proud to say you wanted them put on a leaking boat back to africa. Our chinless wonder of a pm claims the moral high ground for offering to help 20k over5 years.

Separate refugees from migrants. UK needs to take it's share of the refugees. Restrict economic migrants. The two are separate.
