VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

Vane Minerals PLC
07 March 2005

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

daws - Try BSL - I just got quoted 20,000 @ 19,85 with a 7.50 dealing charge. I am usually very please with the service provided by BSL - and it is usually inside the spread

Baza,

Cheers for that, actually meant i bought five thousands pounds worth (5k) :-)
Can usually get quotes for at least 10k's worth on tdw no probs.
Found it hard to believe that i could buy these for this price considering the recent news and expected news flow, maybe towards the end of next week with the agm (no ramp!)
Off out to start the weekend early, have a good one everybody. Will look forward to next week and see what that brings!

Will VML go up then?

dawsinho - 08 May 2005 23:12 - 637 of 2220

Doesn't always work that way, that would make to much sense! Does mean that our Uranium finds are potentially worth more today then they were a few weeks back though :-)

VANE reveals mystery uranium location
By: Rhona O'Connell
Posted: '08-MAY-05 17:00' GMT Mineweb 1997-2004

LONDON (Mineweb.com) -- VANE Minerals, the AIM-listed company (ticker symbol VML.L, and current market capitalisation 28.5 million or US$54 million) that is using the extensive database from Freeport to explore in Latin America for precious metals deposits, has until recently been coy about the location of the uranium deposits that it has also been investigating. It prefers to keep the property under wraps until completion of the acquisition programme.

This was scheduled for the end of April, and was clearly completed on time as the announcement was made in the first week of May; we can reveal that the location in question is Northern Arizona. This is a relatively new district that produced approximately 23 million pounds of U3O8 before the decline of uraniums price in the early 1990s. The uranium occurs in compact high-grade deposits, in breccia pipes that originate in the Mississippian Redwall Limestone. These pipes typically occupy relatively small surface areas and in the majority of cases they can be covered by claims of one to four acres. This minimises land acquisition costs and surface disturbance. Most of the uranium ore produced from pipes in the Arizona district in the past was processed at the White Mesa mill located in Blanding, in Utah and processing at the mill recommenced on March 21 this year.

VANE has obtained the exploration rights to 16 properties in the breccia pipe district of the state. These are located on Federal lands that have been claimed, or are on State lands on which exploration permits have been granted. One property contains a breccia pipe with a drill intercept containing 1.78% equivalent U3O8, several others are believed to hold breccia pipes, while some that have yet to be drilled are exhibiting surface features similar to pipes that have been mined or that are known to contain uranium resources. Further information will be released later in the year.

Meanwhile work continues on VANEs precious metal properties in Mexico and Paraguay. The latest reported results from Mina Charay in Mexico show strong mineralisation, indicating a high-grade vein grading up to 36.82grames per tonne of gold and 706.2g/t of silver. Guadalcazar continues to indicate the presence of a hydrothermal vein system while the properties in Paraguay are looking highly prospective.

That all sounds positive!

tallsiii - 09 May 2005 10:37 - 642 of 2220

Madison - 09 May 2005 14:03 - 644 of 2220

Ian,

The first four VML trades are sometimes showing as buys and sometimes as unknowns. Do you know about this, and is this part of the streaming problems I think I saw mentioned earlier?

Cheers, Madison

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 May 2005 14:06 - 645 of 2220

Madison,

I will take a look.

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 May 2005 14:11 - 646 of 2220

Madison,

These should all now show correctly as buys.

Ian
