Gambling may be a problem for people if they:

tabasco - 12 Jul 2008 10:03 - 67 of 9624

The Saturday value bets this week are Yorkshire-based trainer Noel Wilson
Hotham York 2.40... This improving 5yo is currently racing off his highest mark but in conditions that he favours.
His only other track run produced a career best effort behind Harrison George. Leading most of the way and only fading close home The winner has since gone on to further success defying a penalty Second running a great race in class 2 and 4th beaten length in 16 runner handicap.
His last run when made favorite..was in fast conditions where he got himself outpacedadd to this he was up against a Mark Johnstone improverHe was not disgraced keeping on in without threatening.
Todays conditions will be perfect..and back to the track of his carrer best tells me this is a value E/W bet at 20/1 [best price] Sure to be up with the pace and hopefully kicking on a furlong out!

My second value bet is Fishforcompliments York 3-15 49TH JOHN SMITH'S CUP. As a 2yo pitched in with the best and running against the likes of Cockney Rebel and Vital Equine Never quite living up to the trainers expectations.
One of his best runs of the season was the only other time he has met these conditionsand that was a good second at Newcastle behind previous winner Markab.
His last race behind Re Barolo was on good going..he was up with the pace just running out of steam inside the last..with further to go today and softer groundwe may see a patient ride that could well suit! E/W bet at 25/1 [best price]

2517GEORGE - 12 Jul 2008 11:14 - 68 of 9624

tabasco, your 3.15 choice is 1 of 5 Richard Fahey runners, I notice stable jockey Paul Hanagan is not riding at all today. I will have just a small bet on your 2 selections, but I shall go with T. Hamilton's mount in the 3.15 Extraterrestrial @ 33/1 and also proven on the ground.
2517

tabasco - 12 Jul 2008 12:15 - 69 of 9624

Richard Fahey also had five runners last year and saddled a 1-2.and not with his fancied runnerswith your fancy there is a good yardstick inOrchard Supreme..........btn. around 9 lenghts and getting around 12 lbs from Fish.. In the Totesport Victoria Cup Ascot.but beat Extraterrestrial 2 lengths and only giving 6 lbs in Ascots Royal Hunt Cup.That is a huge differential to account for.Extraterrestrial is only receiving 1 lb from Fish.. .and giving 6 lb if you take the jockey claim. It is a hard race to crack!

2517GEORGE - 12 Jul 2008 12:41 - 70 of 9624

Yes looks very open, I would have thought T. Hamilton had the pick of Fahey's runners in the absence of P. Hanagan. I visited Richard Fahey's yard about 4 years ago now on one of the 'Racing Experience' days, thoroughly enjoyed it although didn't meet him, then went on to Wetherby.

tabasco - 12 Jul 2008 13:04 - 71 of 9624

George..Mc Hugh has rode Fishforcompliments once beforebacked down from 8/1 to 6/1...Hamilton has rode Extraterrestrial once drifted from 14/1 to 20/1.this may not have any significancebut it is not a plus..If Hamilton had choice I believe he would have picked Charlie Tokyo..which still leaves an inexperienced jockey on the stables second fancyFlying Clarets.politics more likely?

2517GEORGE - 13 Jul 2008 11:03 - 72 of 9624

tabasco, we picked the wrong Fahey entrant. Better luck(we need it) today with :-
Haydock 3.20 Balakiref for a repeat win, he likes this track and the going will suit, current price 9/2.
Stratford 4.00 Le Corvee to reverse recent form with Iffy on better terms and that was a first run after a break, currently 16/1 so ew punters could be rewarded.

2517GEORGE - 16 Jul 2008 14:01 - 79 of 9624

Not a lot of confidence but Eva Soneva So Fast was no slouch on the flat, just needs to polish up his jumping for 2.10 UTT odds of 40/1 atm.
2.40 Timmy Murphy's only ride of the day Festival King around 9/1
3.40 Sonar Sound has done nothing, but R. Johnson takes the ride when the stables slightly more fancied Inmate is also running. I'll side with Johnson at 10/1
Good Luck.
