Email from HER
Thank you for your e-mail regarding the above. Host Europe cannot make any further comment at this stage.
However, in order to clarify yesterday's announcement, I can confirm that the current situation is as follows:
Pipex have made an approach to Host Europe and the boards of the two companies are in discussions. The outcome of these discussions may result in an offer being made by Pipex for Host Europe. However, no offer has yet been made. If any offer is made, the value is likely to be around 31.2 million or 2.5p per share.
A further statement will be made in due course and Host Europe will shortly be publishing its 2003 results.

Keep hold there seems to be some clause that they need 90% agreement from share holders and a rumour flying around that another party might be interested in at a price of 0.2913 but its your call. I got in at 2.5 so I personally would like more to show a small profit, one good thing on a personal note is I hold Pipex also.......

thanks for your comments....i bought at an average of 2.2 but think i will hold on a bit longer and see if anyone else comes out of the woodwork...why pay dealing charges anyway when you dont need to..any ideas how long an offer takes to go through anyway...

ample bulletin board, big buys just gone through too...... something is happening not sure why such large buys going through at this stage, is it someone else staking a claim (not ramping just commenting)..

Help please. Have not experienced this situation before. Do we hold on and receive 2.549p per share ? (eventually !)

Oak - yes, providing all conditions (including EGM of Pipex to approve the deal) to the Offer and Placing are either met or waived u will eventually receive 2.549p /share (maybe May/June?)- with no associated costs. Alternatively u can sell in the market now for a discount to that price (and dealing costs)- the discount reflects the time value of money...certainty (in case deal fails to proceed) and of course the MMs "turn"! The choice is yours....
There are substantial irrovocable commitments (i think 30% plus) to accept this offer and therefore chance of higher competing offer..are probably slim!
Hope this helps...
Rgds
