DAV, depends slightly on what version of windows you are running but in effect your problem is that you are running your keyboard with the US character set. Go into control panel, and check under 'keyboard', 'region' or 'language'. Install the UK version and make sure you delete the US one, finally you will have to reboot.

For IE refresh try
Yrefresher (bottom of page). It installs a toolbar in each IE window (which you can shrink to a button) so that you can refresh each window separately by pressing the button and specifying a time interval.

Jon, of course, I never use anything less than one second.
LOL, just joking :-)

Hi huys,
I had a problem with connecting to D4F this am because there was a problem with the Java and I got an exception error.
Contacted D4F and they directed me to their download section and said install the latest JVM file from thier site.
I followed all of the steps, downloaded and installed the file and rebooted.
The laptop is now dead and won't reboot.
Currently using a Toshiba Satellite with Celeron 650 128Mb RAM and Windows Me.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks,
TT
Edit - now fixed through perseverence and luck.

Have spoken to Sequestor with regard to this and to clarify a little - his problem stems from the fact that on the sites he has named, when he tries to enter text, his browser does not respond and can only be shut down by using task manager.

Sequestor, have you tried clearing browser cache? sometimes helps but not as often as it used to.
Did the browser get updated when your broadband was installed?
Do you use Windows Update? have you run it recently?
Not much help sorry....

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggg
I am trying to save a file on win xp. The file is autorun.inf. No matter what I do it saves it as autorun.inf.txt because I created it with notepad.
Does anyone know how to rename this file. And, no, rename don't work. I can change it to autorun.inf.doc or autorun.inf.xls but not autorun.inf
BTW you can only tell it's got the .txt bit on the end when you look at it on a earlier version of windows.
Bloody MS.

Mike - open the relevant folder in Windows Explorer/My Computer. From the Tools menu choose Folder Options. On the View tab, clear the "Hide Extensions for Known File Types" (or similar) item. Choose Apply (and click the Apply to All Folders button if you want to change the behaviour throughout your system), then OK. The full filename will now be displayed and can be edited. To avoid the problem in future, change the "Save as Type" dropdown in the Notepad save dialog to All Files - this prevents the .txt being added.
