How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

"My ew fancy Zabenz wins by about 40 lengths - very impressive "

Completely destroyed the field!

Scrip

i managed to get on Zabenz for small stakes in running, could see a circuit out it only had to jump to win

Dont ask me was approx 4.5 when withdrawn, cant remember exact price - glad it quadrupled your profits on the race - it chopped mine in half :-(

Scripophilist - 29 Nov 2005 15:49 - 6312 of 10502

It was just a lucky fluke for me. I thought it would go the other way to be honest, when I saw it was a rule four I cursed, but then had to keep refreshing the screen when I realised it had gone the other way.

Still waiting and hoping for the day a rule 4 goes in my favour :-)

See the rose tints are out in force on YOO again

Scrip,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I'm assuming that subscribers to Odd Extractor will automatically get the beta version update when ready.

I'm definitely interested in this as have something up my sleeve for later but will have to collect the data first. Just that I'm a bit impatient and would rather collect data asap

Fundamentalist, just a hunch, and a rather bad one at that.

KEAYDIAN - 29 Nov 2005 17:01 - 6316 of 10502

My winnings at the weekend were most probably beginners luck.

Fundamentalist - 29 Nov 2005 21:03 - 6317 of 10502

Harlosh - 29 Nov 2005 21:04 - 6318 of 10502

Been laying Villa since Doncaster scored Steve. Unfortunately I was out of the market when the second goal was scored.

John

Im currently on Doncaster fron 1.24 - they look by far the more likely to score at the mo!

Fundamentalist - 29 Nov 2005 21:09 - 6320 of 10502

Out at 1.15

Harlosh - 29 Nov 2005 21:11 - 6321 of 10502

bakko - 29 Nov 2005 21:22 - 6322 of 10502

Been down to the new place this evening so missed the fun on Villa. Looks like they're going out.

bakko - 29 Nov 2005 21:25 - 6323 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 30 Nov 2005 08:36 - 6326 of 10502

Morning john

had a bit of a disagreement with the alarm clock this am - only just got up!!!

trying to get my head round the cricket at the mo

bakko - 30 Nov 2005 11:35 - 6327 of 10502

Morning All,

Anyone on the cricket?

I get the impression that Pak are slowing things up with the run rate over the last couple of hours and trying to play out a draw despite wickets falling.

Apparently, its quite dark and the floodlights are on. I'm sure the batsmen will take bad light as soon as offered.

I'm currently on the draw.

Hi everyone

Thanks Scrip for the presentation at Manchester, I downloaded bet angel pro for the months trial yesterday. I am reading all the posts and am only up to 881 so far.
So please excuse the question if its been answered before.
During last nights game between Villa and Doncaster at one point I was about to Lay Villa at 5, the bets were suspended and I missed it. when it opend up it was at 19. I left it allone. the Back was arround 19 and then driffted out.
Question, If I Layed it at 5 then Backed it at say 30 would I be able to green up and be in the money.
I will be attending a training course some time in 2006. However I am just trying it out.
Thanks

Bak

days play over - more time lost to the light - missed my alarm this morning so didnt trade as much. The draw looks more likely to me now than it did yesterday (assuming inzy returns) though the price is holding up

Welcome on board, yes you would have.

For example, say you had laid Villa for 100 at 5.0 you would have had 100 profit on Doncaster and draw and 400 loss on Villa. Once the price went to 30, if you then backed Villa for 16 at 30, you would have had 84 on the draw and doncaster and 80 on villa.
