THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

the government should put a tax on rents of say 30% on all rents over £100 a week and a limit of £200 a week rent ,
new homes must give a guarantee for 10 years with no get outs
to fix any problems .
rents are to high house prices are to high tax them . lets have regulations on prices
and profits after all a home is just that a home not an investment

Fred1new - 18 Sep 2015 15:13 - 63105 of 81564

victim,

Watch out I am getting up of my knees.

You can use "economic principles", "market forces", or future economic planning instead of relying on prejudices to formulate the migration policies.

Do it honestly and look at the conclusions!

There are none so blind as those who don't want to see!

Problems are there to be solved not to be denied.

TANKER - 18 Sep 2015 15:15 - 63106 of 81564

why do you think they destroy all the info on their personage its to fiddle the system

crooks and scum .

if you are brittish try and get out of the uk with out a pass port you will not or get in

cynic - 18 Sep 2015 15:17 - 63107 of 81564

MrT - rent controls look lovely in the short term but the downside is that if rents are too depressed, landlords have no incentive to maintain their properties to a high standard ..... secondly, when controls are scrapped, rents rocket to true market

fyi, it's now happening in lisbon

TANKER - 18 Sep 2015 15:17 - 63108 of 81564

fred you lied your daughter does not work for the home office

VICTIM - 18 Sep 2015 15:18 - 63109 of 81564

Oh wad the power the gift he give us to see ourselves as others see us . Robbie Byrnes ( sorry Robbie roughly translated ).

will10 - 18 Sep 2015 15:20 - 63110 of 81564

Tanker . That's less than 1k per year, where do you get your info. about understated age?

Cynic Second part, backing a second horse. I'm lost please help. I know of several migrants with no qualifications running vibrant businesses. I know personally of one export business founded by a migrant without any qualifications that won a Qeens award for business and is extreamely beneficial to the UK.

TANKER - 18 Sep 2015 15:24 - 63111 of 81564

cynic so be it . the gov should set a rule that they will only pay up to £200 max a week and that is it no more so if you can not afford to rent it sell it or leave it empty
for squatters to move in .

the avge 3 bedroom home is not worth more than £200 a week
the avge house price is around £ 218k in the uk
so after 22 years you have your cash back and still own the house

will10 - 18 Sep 2015 15:28 - 63112 of 81564

Hilary. How is 4k a year anywhere near the UK taking its fair share of refugees???.

TANKER - 18 Sep 2015 15:29 - 63113 of 81564

the scam of giving out false info to the gov is well known and the gov do no the problem , but if they have no papers do you call them liars and have to prove they are lying .

has for house prices the gov should act and build houses to under mind rogue private
builders ripping off people ,making a quick buck and walking away

Haystack - 18 Sep 2015 15:31 - 63114 of 81564

One cause of high rents and a shortage of housing stock is the availability of buy to let mortgages iin recent years. Too many people wanted to be landlords and it was too easy to get the cash. It helped put up the prices and then landlords expected a certain return on their money based on the high valuations.

MaxK - 18 Sep 2015 15:31 - 63115 of 81564

If the bloke next door runs up a huge debt, do you think it is your responsibility to help him pay it off?

TANKER - 18 Sep 2015 15:33 - 63116 of 81564

the uk should only take Christians not any muslims they should go to muslim countries
then it woukd be fine

has I have posted I will knock off 30k of my home and donate all in the house worth around 20k so a large family could be moved in with out having to buy or do anything other than look for work

Haystack - 18 Sep 2015 15:33 - 63117 of 81564

There is no such thing as our fair share of refugees, especially as large numbers seem to be economic migrants who we want zero of.

will10 - 18 Sep 2015 15:33 - 63118 of 81564

Tanker. Do the math. 5k a year gross (say 4k after expenses) is less than 2%. Wouldn't cover the landlords mortgage. Not a viable business model.

Only solution to housing problem is to build more houses.

Haystack - 18 Sep 2015 15:34 - 63119 of 81564

Stop buy to let mortgages.

cynic - 18 Sep 2015 15:35 - 63120 of 81564

perhaps we were talking a x-purposes
housing benefit is already pretty tight, though i don't its limits

your average house price is considerably skewed insofar as houses in mid wales or cumbria or bolton are assuredly an awful lot lower than those in southern england ..... there's a link to job location

with regard to building costs, you need to take a look at the cost of the land and then check what % builders actually make

wil10 should be the man to tell you all

MaxK - 18 Sep 2015 15:36 - 63121 of 81564

Where does the money come from to build more houses?

TANKER - 18 Sep 2015 15:36 - 63122 of 81564

hays spot on greedy bastards wanting more and more for seating on their backsides
hays your best post ever , rotten landlords who can not fix the problems but want the cash if you can not guarantee to fix the problems you should be banned fro renting

TANKER - 18 Sep 2015 15:38 - 63123 of 81564

will can give one of is homes for free to the council if he thinks like a dimwit,
but alas greed will get the better of him . if he is for real
