THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

d-in-l thinks it's totally nuts
primarily to do with "antisocial hours" pay being scrapped as far as i understand

i'ld guess that when my now-consultant chap was qualifying, they also did not get paid "antisocial hours" but haven't seen him to ask, but times change etc etc, in this as in other things (please note fred!)

d-in-l delighted she just has a final set of exams to do in november and then she's fully-fully qualified so unaffected

Criminal proceedings have been started in Switzerland against Sepp Blatter.

Stand by to watch the Labour Party begin to disintegrate and lots of its members join up with UKIP. Don't forget that UKIP did get 4m votes in the last GE. They would have gotten more but it was very important to stop Labour getting in by not voting for the Tories (because of the negative effect of the SNP and Nicola Sturgeon who were about to win massively in Scotland)).

Then stand by to watch UKIP ascend into a very powerful force indeed, sweeping up lots of seats and lots of power in the forthcoming May 2016 local elections.

Then stand by to watch UKIP exercise very powerful influence over a 'NO to retaining membership of the EU' in the forthcoming Referendum.

Farage and his voters are a waste of space. Fall guys for the looney neo-cons and malcontents.

He looks like a poorly package Guy Faukes and go up in smoke with the votes at the election, as did his relatives the BNP.

Might hasten the Devolution of Scotland.

W/S.

LOL Fred, The Raving Loony party will get more votes than that clown Corbyn.

Haystack - 25 Sep 2015 17:47 - 63383 of 81564

Corbyn is the Monster Raving Loony Party leader.

'Corbynomics'

Or if you can't spell it, just use 'comics'.

MaxK - 25 Sep 2015 19:56 - 63385 of 81564

Come on, be fair, Corbyn is consistent if nothing else.

Anyway, we were all rootin for him :-)

It is all unraveling.

http://news.sky.com/story/1559023/ukips-mp-and-biggest-donor-in-public-spat

A row has exploded between UKIP's biggest donor Arron Banks and the party's only MP Douglas Carswell.

Mr Carswell earlier confronted Mr Banks at UKIP's annual conference over suggestions the donor has been involved in an attempt to deselect him.

After the clash, Mr Banks told Sky News the Clacton MP is "borderline autistic with some mental illness attached".

He later apologised for the comment.

The heated exchange at the conference in Doncaster occurred in the press room in front of journalists.

Mr Carswell immediately started briefing some journalists, many of whom had seen the altercation.

He told them the exchange was not "shouty" but a "matter of fact" discussion.

Mr Carswell refused to talk directly to Sky News.

Mr Banks told Sky News Mr Carswell was angry but that he "was on transmit, I think it would be the right description. I didn't really get the chance to say nothing".

The Guardian had reported entrepreneur Mr Banks said Mr Carswell should explain his position and possibly face deselection if he backed the eurosceptic organisation, Business for Britain (BfB).

Mr Banks leads the new Leave EU umbrella campaign.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage also weighed in after the spat.

"I can only guess he's (Mr Carswell) got some residual loyalty to his old friends in the Conservative Party and that's fine, friendship and loyalty are important values in life, but the fact is that (senior BfB figure Matt) Elliott's group do not advocate leaving the European Union, it's very simple," Mr Farage said.

He also said Mr Banks does not have the power to threaten Mr Carswell with deselection, but he said the MP may have a "slight problem" with the donor.

The clash came on a day that Mr Farage used his keynote speech to try to unite different eurosceptic campaigns.

In private, Mr Banks, who donated £1m to UKIP last year, has made clear his disdain for Mr Carswell.

It is not the first time the pair have had a public spat.

In May, after Mr Farage changed his mind to stay on as UKIP leader, the Telegraph reported Mr Banks labelled Mr Carswell "duplicitous".

Mr Banks told Sky News his parting words to Mr Carswell on Friday were '"stay classy, Santiago".

MaxK - 25 Sep 2015 21:43 - 63389 of 81564

Carswell is a Trojan, letting him inside the gates was a mistake.

Haystack - 25 Sep 2015 21:47 - 63390 of 81564

The UN has warned that 8,000 migrants are arriving in Europe every day and that is likely to continue. That is 2.9m a year. There are 5,000 arriving in Greece per day mainly from Syria and Iraq. The UN added that the flow at that level could continue over the winter.

Haystack - 25 Sep 2015 21:49 - 63391 of 81564

Let us hope that Carswell is a Trojan and screws up UKIP. The Conservatives could do with some of their votes back.

Fred1new - 25 Sep 2015 22:20 - 63392 of 81564

Max,

Do you mean Carswell should leave the Augean stable and return to the tory's Augean stable.

If so I agree with you!

Think we got some kind of PR in our elections for assembly members (AM's) in the waste of time Welsh Assembly.

Based on the figures for the last General Election UKIP will get 7 members but that was before the Syrian refugee crisis , dickhead Corbyn's election blah blah blah.

Ukip gonna do well in Wales next year and will give them the platform they need for the get out of Europe campaign bandwagon.

Fred .... sorry mate but I'm the voice of reason imo in Wales and unless something drastically changes this is what will happen.

Do I want it ? .... not sure but if they canvassed on the promise of get ridding of the Welsh Assembly in favour of one Britain / UK I'd be hundred percent behind UKIP.
