3:30 PM EST - The indexes are holding at a possible double bottom in the 15 minute charts. The NASDAQ is at support seen in the 60 minute chart at 1,890. Double bottoms are bullish patterns that result in an upside move, so we will continue to watch for a move higher off the following levels.

Shorted the Dow at the close with a Dec future. Looking for 50 points.

Twat....... averaged in at 6995 9661 and 9627 & moved my stops down on orginal position - expected a rally in to the close but it didnt happern - have closed out now at 9620. Not sure if this is an over reaction or the start of a trend Better to preserve the pot and jump back in when it clearer for me.

If 9600 goes Im a bear!

I know feels like salt being rubbed in the wounds - still think I did the right thing by getting out - after seeing such a negative close last night didnt know where we were going -was in for ?125/point so downside risk started to get to great. wiped out this weeks gains and ?300 of last weeks - I'm happy with that

afternoon guys:
what a downer yesterday was.the shorts played well.
Chadbukl-best to cut abnd run especially when in dowbt-otherwise ends up eating u. Regroup and prepare for battle again today.
What are your opinions today? mine is that it will go higher try probably for 9700 area and if cant violate it then going down like a stone.

I have got two longs open from last night opening at 9638/9648. i hope i can realise them b4 the open preferably -safer that way other wise on edge of seat and biting the nails time.

I closed all my longs for 9620 took a bit of a beating but I dont know where this market is going - my gut feel is an early bounce then flat to lower.

However I really dont know thats why Im sitting on cash and my hands. wont be opening anything till about 6pm tonight

Today the NASDAQ 100 and S&P 500 indexes moved lower despite yesterday's supportive volume. Today's decline may be due to continued fears over terrorist attacks stemming from Monday's terrorist attacks in Turkey and Iraq, which spooked investors. As the market opened, it encountered some resistive volume to the upside, which helped move the market lower throughout the rest of the morning. By 12:00 there was a moderately large supportive VMA spike to the downside that caused the market to temporarily stop its decline, but more resistive volume at 13:15 helped move the market lower again. Throughout the rest of the afternoon the market continued its decline, but in doing so, it generated a large amount of supportive volume to the downside. This supportive volume was split into three major peaks occurring at 14:10, 15:00 and at the end of the day. Overall, we believe that the market could begin to move higher in the mid-term because the market didn't react to today's large amount of supportive volume to the downside by producing an end-of-day rally. In the short-term the market may continue to be volatile due to the upcoming options expiration.

Ym auction opens in 17mins the trin is at 1.63 at present.

9633 / 9648 at 10/pt. closed the 2 longs of in credit at 9658 = 35pts x10=350 profit. Just watching the screen to take shorts now.

Looks like I was a bit premature - however still made the right decission as I felt there was more downside than upside and did not think I would have access to a pc today- better to choose the level of your losses than take a magor hit

closed the daily dow short open 9660 closed 9640 = 20pts x20 =400 gain plus 350 from the longs b 4 =750 so far.
