THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

HMRC vs Ingenious Films
does anyone know if there has yet been any sort of judgment in this case, notwithstanding that whatever it is will undoubtedly be appealed?

TANKER - 05 Oct 2015 08:00 - 63550 of 81564

nearly 500 000 have been murdered in the usa since 2001 with guns

SOLELY FOR THE GOLFERS AMONG US

are phony h'caps the same as cheating?
at yesterday's dunhill, michael ballak was the amateur in the winning team, receiving a shot a hole
he finished easily with 2 nett birdies
over 72 holes, his score counted 31 times

his professional partner, florian fritsch was not too shabby, finishing 19th at -12

clearly, mb's h'cap was effectively manipulated, rather as a certain other person's was a few years back, and who was subsequently banned from the tournament

would anyone care to contradict my implication?

Mostly black on black crimes. Obama had a majority in the House and Senate in his first term and could have passed any law he wanted. Coming from Chicago, possibly the worst city in the US for gun crime, you would have thought it would be high on his list of priorities. He did nothing. Much easier to just wring his hands and blame republicans and the NRA.

cynic - 05 Oct 2015 10:12 - 63561 of 81564

would i want to go to malta for 21 nights?
5/7 nights maybe, but can't imagine it being thrilling for any longer

half-board i avoid anywhere
the dinners (or lunches) are usually pretty nasty, even in best hotels in dubai, so would rather pay more, take my chances and go out to eat

Fred1new - 05 Oct 2015 10:38 - 63562 of 81564

I like it when a tory government admits it is so bereft of talent it has to borrow from the Labour Party. Not only organising ability, but policy.

I suppose we can always hope for further improvements.

Also, heard in the vallies that England is trying to get Warren Gatland to apply for the job going at the English Cabbage HQ patch.

using the same (il)logic, it doesn't say much for JC's appeal that one if its stalwarts is very happy to give up the labour whip to work for the opposition

TANKER - 05 Oct 2015 10:48 - 63564 of 81564

cynic malta is good you can jump in the sea all round the island just take a towel with you food the plum tree is great run by a scotsman clean and taste food

I would say the same about most resorts. 11 or 12 days is my limit. As for board, I prefer to get out for lunch and dinner. Why hang around a hotel when on holiday unless you have young kids to consider? Tried all the costas, Greece, Turkey etc until I happened to go to the Algarve almost by accident. I have been back every year since. A bit more crowded since the EU kindly funded the motorway from Spain. Now you have the spanish escaping from the Brits...
