Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Yes, you are a silly old "goat".

Manuel,
I try not to comment on things of which I have little informed knowledge. (Other than when I am being flippant.)
Charities, with their methods of funding, organisations goals and aims are too complex to me to comment on.
Give me specifics and perhaps I will.
My wife is responsible for "running", organising and "books" of a charity and I keep my nose well out of its doings.
If she asks me for an opinion on it, I say "yes dear" of course you are "right", muttering under my breath, "or left".
So far I have survived in one piece.
So my answer to you is, ”yes deary, of course you have made conclusions which are correct”.

As far as Germany and migrants are concerned there have been murmurings of discontent by some, since the 1960s.
I came back from Belgrade and Zagreb, through Germany by train in the 1960s, when it was chock a block with Yugoslav economic migrants. When we questioned them about the economic and problems in Yugoslavia and Germany told us that in general that they were welcome by the majority of Germans, but that there were some disgruntled Germans groups who showed a degree of hostility to them. (Remarking, as one would expect as they were better looking than the Germans.)
The same applied with other “economic refugees” of that period.
Many of those “migrants” settled in Germany and from what have been told don’t seem to have ongoing problems.
The same discontent occurred when East and West Germany were reunited. Those problems seem to have been left behind, apart from by a few disgruntled individuals.
The same will happen again.

well fred, that implies that you don't give to charity, though sure as hell you bitch long and loud about others being ungenerous in various ways ......
i intentionally avoided asking whether or not you would even contemplate supporting any of the several charities that ask for aid for the refugees in greece and other places
however, with all your blathering, it would be very difficult, though assuredly not impossible for you to claim that you don't know anything about them ...... so i guess that question stands
perhaps your wife can speak for you if you cannot form your own opinion

east and west germany .... a great many problems remain, though the german gov't tries to sweep them under the carpet ......
as for your journey 45 years ago, were you on a fact-finding mission or somesuch?

Manuel,
Again your suppositions are ill founded!
You asked a general question and I responded to the question on that basis.
My wife often does, even when I have formed a different opinion.
Pay her fees and she will help you to do the same!

you are just sooooooo predictable
in all the time i have been on this site, i don't think you have once given a straight answer to a straight and often simple question
i'm sure your daddy told you his was a really clever thing to do, and i dare say it is if you have to deal with union officials and similar, but not in real life it isn't
of course when you ask others a question, you often demand a reply, and if given, then true to form, you just cherry-pick the bits you like and twist those around to suit your agenda
in fact, it's not really clever at all ..... just rather predictable, slimy and even pretty despicable

Stan,
At times, he seems to be a light weight bully boy and then retreats to being a mummy's darling.
Stunted youth, I would expect.

let me put it this way fred .......
our business/industry is broadly based on honesty and transparency ...... most live by that code ..... one quickly gets to know those who are "tricky" and if one deals with them, almost every conversation is then confirmed with a follow-up e-mail ..... you would definitely fall into that latter category

Manuel,
Look back through your postings when you seem to delight in castigating others.
With a little reflection, the attempt at bullying is a projection of your own self.
Those with differing opinions to yours are often sneered or scoff at.
In your case, I think my retorts are proportionate.
Have a better day.

You chose the comparison and I think the inference is there!
Also, remember hearing my children going upstairs together, when "grumblings" broke out.
Asking them what was going on the answer came " Hanna blew on me as she passed me".
40 years on they still occasionally "blow on one another", but now with a "smile".

Filtering someone is no different than moving away from some old bore propping up the bar. Fred has little to say and keeps saying it. I worked that out a long time ago.

Cyners,
Most folks of sound mind squelched Old Bollock Chops ages ago, leaving him to rant to himself and his rent boy, Stan. I'm sure you're a very nice chap and all that, and you've made a great contribution to the forum in general, but, fwiw, I'm getting very close to squelching you as well, because all I see whenever I open this thread is your monologue of replies to him.
It's got naff all to do with bullying, and it's not a crime to ignore someone, doncha know?
