THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

You are being a little repetitious.

Have a better day tomorrow.

Alf didn't get where he is today by not being Alf.

Fred1new - 12 Oct 2015 18:37 - 63809 of 81564

Stan,

At times, he seems to be a light weight bully boy and then retreats to being a mummy's darling.

Stunted youth, I would expect.

-=-=-=

He can't help himself.

cynic - 13 Oct 2015 08:21 - 63810 of 81564

let me put it this way fred .......

our business/industry is broadly based on honesty and transparency ...... most live by that code ..... one quickly gets to know those who are "tricky" and if one deals with them, almost every conversation is then confirmed with a follow-up e-mail ..... you would definitely fall into that latter category

iturama - 13 Oct 2015 09:28 - 63811 of 81564

Its about time you two settled it once and for all.

cynic - 13 Oct 2015 09:33 - 63812 of 81564

in truth, i probably ought to filter fred, but i always feel that is akin to giving in to bullying

Fred1new - 13 Oct 2015 09:48 - 63813 of 81564

Manuel,

Look back through your postings when you seem to delight in castigating others.

With a little reflection, the attempt at bullying is a projection of your own self.

Those with differing opinions to yours are often sneered or scoff at.

In your case, I think my retorts are proportionate.

Have a better day.

Manuel,

Think about this cartoon:

cynic - 13 Oct 2015 09:56 - 63815 of 81564

did i say you were a bully? ..... no patently not
yet another example of you taking bits and twisting them

Fred1new - 13 Oct 2015 10:07 - 63816 of 81564

You chose the comparison and I think the inference is there!

Also, remember hearing my children going upstairs together, when "grumblings" broke out.

Asking them what was going on the answer came " Hanna blew on me as she passed me".

40 years on they still occasionally "blow on one another", but now with a "smile".

iturama - 13 Oct 2015 10:18 - 63817 of 81564

Filtering someone is no different than moving away from some old bore propping up the bar. Fred has little to say and keeps saying it. I worked that out a long time ago.

Fred1new - 13 Oct 2015 10:20 - 63818 of 81564

It,

You must spend your time in some empty pubs.

hilary - 13 Oct 2015 10:41 - 63819 of 81564

Cyners,

Most folks of sound mind squelched Old Bollock Chops ages ago, leaving him to rant to himself and his rent boy, Stan. I'm sure you're a very nice chap and all that, and you've made a great contribution to the forum in general, but, fwiw, I'm getting very close to squelching you as well, because all I see whenever I open this thread is your monologue of replies to him.

It's got naff all to do with bullying, and it's not a crime to ignore someone, doncha know?

Fred1new - 13 Oct 2015 10:58 - 63820 of 81564

Was that a message from a bar fly?

'A total f***ing shambles': Labour MPs' fury at Corbyn U-turn on vow to cut the deficit and balance books

Labour in open revolt as leadership abandons pledge to balance the books
Two weeks ago John McDonnell backed Tory plans to run a surplus
But last night the hard-Left chancellor ordered MPs to vote against it
Furious Labour MPs warn there is now 'no credible leadership' in party

The Labour party is in open revolt today after embattled leader Jeremy Corbyn ditched a promise to balance the nation's books.

The shock u-turn, just a fortnight after shadow chancellor John McDonnell vowed to back Tory plans to run a surplus, was branded a 'total f***ing shambles' by a former Cabinet minister as MPs lined up to publicly criticise the leadership.

Frontbencher Diane Abbott took to the airwaves to try to defend the fiasco which led to claims that Mr Corbyn no longer as control of his shadow cabinet or his party.

Fred1new - 13 Oct 2015 12:09 - 63823 of 81564

Sensible change by Labour.

Osborne is a con artist!

Glad to see labour are not accepting the lead to slaughter.

The proposals by Osborne are daft and he would never be able to deliver the proposed.

This allows for Osborne to be hoisted by his own petard.

Fred1new - 13 Oct 2015 12:12 - 63824 of 81564

JB,

I like that cartoon.

Fred1new - 13 Oct 2015 12:19 - 63825 of 81564

Having printed it out, it looks like the English changing room after Wales had beaten them.

Fred1new - 13 Oct 2015 12:23 - 63826 of 81564

I think it would be sensible for the Labour leadership to sit in a quiet room, when making decisions and then sleeping on them, before addressing the frenzied (bought) media and school boy tactics of the con party.
