How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Arisito, don't wait 12hrs next time ;~). What a totally bonkers market :~) Made more on laying HR waiting for the Wigan game to start than i did on the game itself.

Used to play cricket at all but the highest level and have always been an avid fan (and stats follower) hence trading it to me is quite natural.
Also, in test cricket prices move a bit slower than other sports and it is a lot easier to price up possible future scenarios and calculate the risk/reward of any trade. As for 1 day cricket, the market tends to overshoot more than any other market imo, you often see sides at 1.2 or less after 20 overs (or 20% of the whole game)
Tonight could be very interesting as the Draw price (which is where i always start at when looking to trade a test match) could either be heavy odds on tonight or out of the market completely. Planning on making it up for the start at 5am - subject to me not turning the alarm off and rolling over as i did this morning!!!

Thanks for the reply, obviously an inside knowledge of the game is an advantage and you do seem to have the edge. Good luck with your trade in the morning

Morning all
just about managed to obey the alarm this morning (be glad when this test ends and i can get my sleep pattern back!)
Draw price heading south from ball1 this morning, England desperate for wickets. Inzy not padded up so doesnt look like he'll be next in
Nice to see the mayhem on the Pompey mgr continued overnight currently big green McLeish and Burley, small green Warnock small red the rest

Morning woodie
still doesnt make sense on the basis that Warnock doesnt meet Pompey till today. have cleared all my red off my board, big winners for me are McLeish/Burley and Warnock a small winner
Cricket been strange this morning, laid the draw at 2.02 and still happy with the position though would like another wicket before lunch and then the new ball to do some damage afterwards. Looks as though Inzy will bat though will require an injection to do so

very hard going but have had a free run from my draw lay so cant complain - new ball after lunch is vital - no wickets in 10 mins and watch the draw tumble

Morning guys,
Wasn't too well for some reason last night so missed all the footy action. Really annoyed too cos I was convinced Wigan would beat Newcastle and the odds were fantastic. 3.55 if I remember rightly.
Sods law.
Hope the crickets going well for you two. I'm out. Haven't a clue wht's going on so I'll leave it to you.

Pakistan strongly in control and the draw price lengthening - surely it wont shorten with a wicket so looks a free lay until England bat?

Series over - now a straight bet between Pakistan and Draw in this match - looks like England will have to bat 100-110 overs for it to be a draw
spread on pakn runs looking healthy :-)
