Its good to see the FTSE above 5100.

proptrade - 22 Jun 2005 10:57 - 6397 of 27111

wilbs....for a minute there i thought i didn't realise i was on the seo thread. A sensible post and a good point!

Sequestor - 22 Jun 2005 10:58 - 6398 of 27111

nice to see the Bank looks like dropping the rate, "banked" on that announcement this morning- long FTSE-tight trailing stop-loss @5100 tho`- thats the killing number if the DOW closes flat, altho` its` futures up 30 pts.

Check out MOI for a fun punt.

wilbs - 22 Jun 2005 11:03 - 6399 of 27111

Make your mind up seaquestor, was it last week you said short the FTSE???
wilbs

Sequestor - 22 Jun 2005 11:40 - 6400 of 27111

nasty "hook" on the FTSE,I have an order into short if it breaks below 5100,
great volatility for trading tho`.

stockdog - 22 Jun 2005 12:08 - 6401 of 27111

proptrade/wilbs - complete rubbish - what rot! I filtered the FTSE 100 weeks ago - it's got no idea what it's saying - arrogant ramper.

BTW have you been watching SEQ today - bile rising in spite of no visible Really Not Secure notices.

What I do find ever so useful on this thread is having everyone else's posts interpreted for me, 'cos otherwise I'm such a silly girl I just wouldn't know where to begin to understand all your posts. You know, as soon as my pulse starts to race when you clever chaps come on the thread, my head goes into a complete spin without someone to give me a good bashing and straighten me out. Lord knows, I might even start to believe all I read.

Let's have lots more more personal abuse too - I love it. Who cares about silly old shares when the sun's out and we can all have a giggle on this thread. Did you hear about that silly boy Bosley (I can say this 'cos he's on his hols) he went and bought a whole load of shares in some company that's sold one tray lid so far. They'll never make a profit selling just one lid will they?

Does anyone on this thread take RHPSG and do you know when it gets published each month?

wilbs - 22 Jun 2005 12:35 - 6403 of 27111

stockdog. LOL!!!

Ashley - 22 Jun 2005 12:44 - 6404 of 27111

It seems to me that SEO are very much taking a 'softly softly' approach to their new technology and making sure that nothing goes wrong with it before going all out for orders. Surely this is the best way to go about things. I am afraid that a lot of people are expecting too much too soon. Hopefully in six months or so, orders will come thick and fast.

stockdog - 22 Jun 2005 12:45 - 6405 of 27111

Sharesure - yes to both questions!

Oh, see what you mean . . . Magazine comes out first weekend each month and there are weekly email updates every Thursday after market close, about 6.00pm usually.

I've found it very useful as a guide to what's available, but am not slavish. It has a useful Watchlist item two of which recently I have bought into before it fully recommended them. One of them was PSG (great share with similar market potential to SEO imho) and the other was dear old SEO itself - so I've more than paid for my subscription this year (even aftert deducting disastrous DEMG - grrrr!)

roma - 22 Jun 2005 13:09 - 6406 of 27111

Ashley. I fully agree with you,6-12 months should see a big increase in orders, I also expect a big increase in the share price as the orders begin to flow. Good luck.

Sequestor - 22 Jun 2005 13:10 - 6407 of 27111

yeah brilliant mag, they let you know Frid. after closing- what shares they are ramping, sorry tipping, prior to that all the staff, the van-drivers, the post-men, and the IT staff have bgt. loads just BEFORE Thurs. close, and well, well, well, surprice surprise, look what happens @opening Frid a.m.- all the tips areup 10/15/20%- er too late for the customers to get on tho!

jimmy b - 22 Jun 2005 13:20 - 6408 of 27111

Actually that's a good point, i have tip sheets that arrive on a saturday every month and, guess what monday 8am the two top tips are up before the market opens ,ive now cancelled and only subscribe to the one i receive mid week...JB..
Seq...MSYNTPTD

Sequestor - 22 Jun 2005 13:25 - 6409 of 27111

jim- trust me I tried them first in the late ` 70`s when they first arrived-80%
of the tips are up next a.m., its the biggest con ever.
Oh of course the the people involved in the mag . don`t have access to the tips (snigger), who the fcuk is it that gets the pre-market prices up then?- er thats my question- the funniest part is that even the tipsters themselves know it goes on as they usually advise punters not to buy the next day- good money for some.

wilbs - 22 Jun 2005 13:32 - 6410 of 27111

I agree with seaquestor, I tried RHPS and the following monday after the tip sheet was out the shares rocketed, came down a few days later and stayed stagment for ages.

Market makers also get hold of them before we do and tinker with the price, before monday am.

Chiva20 - 22 Jun 2005 13:32 - 6412 of 27111

Of course, very old hat. The 70's is a bit too far away for me but it doesn't take a genius to work that out. Ask anything/one with influence, eg. EK, warren Buffet .. you name em, they know it, we know it.

The tipster mags are great for research though, and bringing stocks to your attention which is more what I think Sharesure and stock dog were referring to, and not implying they are an unfailing source of shares. We have the conflict of interests between traders and investors here again. Plus a lot of rather weird capital letter coded messages and people taking posts out of context.

Sequestor - 22 Jun 2005 13:38 - 6413 of 27111

Chiva20 - 22 Jun'05 - 13:32 - 6411 of 6411 (Filtered)

enough of this one methinks, know it all, capital letters coded messages, weird.

wilbs - 22 Jun 2005 13:40 - 6414 of 27111

Don't worry Chiva20, its the best thing that can happen.

Sharesure - 22 Jun 2005 13:47 - 6415 of 27111

Thanks, Stockdog. Chiva, you are right; a great source of ideas for the future. In my experience the spike in the price is seldom sustained. I seem to be on a free weekly email update, but that only contains recommendations that have already been tipped in the subscribers' newsletter.
SEO looks good today. It will be a comfort when volume orders come though, which I reckon we all think will happen. Probably a good policy to get the technology well and truely tested in UK before getting into the US market.
