Morning all.
Time for a donut and a nice black expresso, please. Offspring doing AS Maths/Mechanics paper today so I am in need of early sustanance! Going to be a long month ahead... Sun shining here but have garage to clear to make way for daughter coming back from Uni in Spain with car load of stuff, boyfriend, etc. - you think they leave home but they are like boomerangs coming back with ever more belongings, friends, etc.etc. Anyway, it's all good fun but better get some stop losses in place if I am going to be out.
Hope u all had a good week-end ... not too much sun burn and ease off all the tasks amberjane - I have this picture of you sitting by the new pond, immaculate garden with smell of fresh paint wafting by you - and I am feeling lazy!

I get the feeling jj that even though u may be 'feeling' lazy that with your family u aint gunna get a chance to be it!
Shame yr not nearer to join me by the pond, with trickling waterfall, wafting smells of lillies, jasmine and honeysuckle, under a newly painted blue gazebo. We could watch the chirping bule tit family feeding and the fifteen 3 & 4 week old bunnies hopping all around the blossom laced grass. The smell of the freshly baked bread and scones wafting from the kitchen...(oh no that bits not true, cant cook, that'll have to be your contribution).
Still, shame you've got the gargae to clear......I'll have to sit on my own. anyone for lunch?

Glorious weather this morning. All the rhododendrons on the terrace are a riot of colour and the sweet-peas are flowering and clambering everywhere. Thought we could christen the barbecue for lunch, aj..... I've got some scallops marinading in soy sauce with scallions and fresh ginger and I'm sure we could rustle up a salad.....plus I've already put a bottle of Rully premier cru in the fridge.....should I make that 2, dotel?

My rhodys are all finished, must have had an earlier summer than you.
Lunch sounds delicious, I'll just toss in a couple of prawns, tigers of course, as an extra, and settle down in the sun...ummm

Escaped from the garage for a quick break - garage looking better, kitchen however looking fuller!
Your garden sounds wonderful amberjane although I am not sure all those bunnies might not lead to the destruction of the perfect garden. No time to join you and Vasey for those delicious sounding scallops although my mouth is watering at the very thought of them ..........enjoy ............

Afternoon All, been painting over the weekend and today but
had enough now, so decided to sort out the dinner/supper menu
for today, we've gone Italian (no reason, just fancied a change!):
Main courses this evening - all served with salad or various veggies.
Insalata di Funghi Gamberi
(raw mushies and prawn salad)
Sgombro en Cartoccio
(Mackerel parcels)
Scaloppine alla Parmigiana
(veal escalopes with ham and cheese)
Bistecca alla Pizzaiola
(steaks with tomato and garlic sauce)
For dessert:
Pesche alla Piemontese
(almond stuffed peaches)
Gelato alla Nocciola
(hazelnut ice cream)

I quite fancy the steak then ice cream.
stockbunny, I'm still prepping the front porch which is long overdue for
maintenance. The more I do the more I find to do.
Still, there are all kinds of rotten wood treatments and fillers and foams
and stuff down at the B&Q so I should have it done soon.

Good to bring a smile Opto on a Monday afternoon, just don't
get into Italian conversation as my Italian stops at copying out
of the cookery book! Have you had a good day?
You have my sympathy Snoball,I know the hall/stairs/landing seems
to be growing on me by the day - everything needs 'work' not just
a quick slap with a paintbrush, so like you its on-going/ever-going on!
Tackled an old porch donkeys years ago with the 'Then-Mr-Bunny' and
we ended up wondering how it was still standing as it was so rotten!!

I'm hoping this one will last a few more years, stockbunny though
it does seem to have the beginnings of a slight 'list'. I'm going
to ignore that for now.

Nah..that's CHARACTER Snowie, shows a porch of class and unique
design quality which sets it apart from other less design conscious
models or indeed cheap and nasty imitations of true rusticness...(lol)

Building work? I don't do building work. Splash some paint around maybe, but picking up bricks is out!

Snoball, best treatment for rotten wood is new wood, everything else just puts off the inevitable.
Bunny dont worry about me coming on the Italian, it took me a while to learn that chow was not food but I think goodnight. Had an easy day, no painting or mending :-))
