Bioprogress (BPRG)

scorpion - 13 Aug 2003 13:54

Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

Can only help, people refer to RNS what does this actually stand for, I am fairly new to investing and it seems to be linked to news... Dont want to create new thread just for this, can anyone help?

AdieH - RNS - (EDIT - thanks to publess for correction): Regulatory News Service - which supply the official Stock Exchange announcements, I believe is the term!

I read a quote from the BPRG CEO that the FMC deal was very complicated, hence the delay in announcing it. The inference was that the next deal (and more) is a bit more straightforward.

So, I am hoping for the OTC deal to emerge in the next week or two. It will be a big name so I hope they can say who. It is for exclusive use of another of BPRG's technologies covering the USA and the EU only. It entails the OTC company to build a film plant in the USA which will then also be availble to service BPRG's other US customers. BPRG have already said they are talking big numbers (in the RNS in November)

This leaves deals for non-USA/EU territories for that same technology to be done. It leaves the other two technologies to be commercialised. There is also ostomy which is already licenced to Bristol Myers Squibb and the product should roll this year.

All exciting because you have seen what "completed deal" and a big name and figures does to the share price and stirs the newspapers into action.

The good thing is the share price often moves slowly at first after the announcement. After FMC, you could have picked up BPRG in the early 80p area for a good couple of hours after the open (up only a few pence). You don't have to risk all on the hope of something. You can wait for the announcement and move quickly on the open!

But, as always, Do Your Own Research!

Don't mean to be picky, but it's the Regulatory News Service - Reuters is another thing entirely.

This is the one to have your money on, comment from Killick one of my brokers and yes the BIG NEW contract is imminent any day now. I will let you know, had to check out no last minute problems but there arent, ITS MASSIVE, and I mean MASSIVE. Added a 'warehouse full' this morning after the confirmation.

Anyway heres thr brokers note...........

Following on from our comment on Bioprogress yesterday, we were able to hold
conversations with company management and representatives. The contract
announced which, they estimate could be worth around $160 million over six years,
looks to be conservative, but sticking with that for the time being, they are talking about
the machinery components of the contract (which will be manufactured by the world
leader in this area) being worth a gross profit of a minimum of 35% and the royalty
stream being significantly higher. With a low operating overhead which will not need
expanding far, this contract alone has the ability to support the current valuation. We
suspect others will follow shortly. The stock is seeing good two way business at around
1 a share where the company value is 100 million. Once the selling dries up, we see
a the stock well set for a further significant move to the upside.

cheers GF.

GF - take a look at BIP when you get a chance. More blue-sky than BPRG but phenomenal potential in Vialogy. There are quite a few BPRG supporters in it now. I have a thread running:

Cheers Bones will have a look but have to say if I could put down on this board what I know about BPRG we would be looking at a bagger in 30mins time and thats true. Its mind blowing the potential and as you know Im a conservative type of chap I just feel so frustrated, by copywrite etc , etc.

Anyway have a good day my freind, sorry dont mean to harp on so much.

cheers GF.

spoke to graham hind who said that the us deal will be announced at the end of the month due to all the legalities of the deal which are vast. The fmc deal was seen as more important to announce first.

Taken from another board re shares mag write up

New deal sweetens the pill for Bioprogress

Further deals are in the offing at Bioprogress (AIM:BPRG) after it signed a major agreement for its film encapsulation technology NROBE.

Shares in the company rocketed 36% to 106p after management announced a licensing deal worth $160 million with US company FMCCorporation.

Bioprogress designs biodegradable encapsulation systems for pharmaceutical tablets. Its technology replaces beef-derived gelatin encapsulation, which experts fear could carry CJD.

The film could help pharmaceutical companies facing generic competition launch new versions of existing products.

Chemical company FMC has secured an exclusive global licence for Bioprogresss NROBE dosage technology and is responsible for commercialising it. FMC must buy a minimum number of Bioprogresss encapsulation machines over the first six years and at least 50% of its film requirement over the next three years.

This is a terrific deal for us and has a big impact on what were doing, says chief executive Graham Hind. As a small company we need to have a partner that has worked with pharmaceutical companies for a long time. FMC is not interested in anything that isnt going to make billions. Its set up a separate division just for this.

Hind claims that there are more deals on the way and is considering hitting the acquisition trail.

People should understand this is one of several more deals coming down the pipeline, says Hind. Its not just a flash in the pan. Plus we have a liquid stock and this gives me the opportunity of considering acquisitions.

Speculative buy.

Excelent post Janus.
