How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Morning all

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 05:19 - 6509 of 10502

Morning Steve

Can't believe I'm up at this time!

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 05:21 - 6510 of 10502

You get used to it after a few tests - its early afternoon it'll hit you!!!

Seems to be a little reverse swing but not too many gremlins in the pitch as yet

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 05:26 - 6511 of 10502

So far so good for Eng. They just need to bat sensibly. Pitch seems slow and flat.

As you've probably gathered I didn't green up on this and instead looking for the big one!

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 05:28 - 6512 of 10502

My book is much heavier towards Pakistan than the draw, and may get a bit more that way soon! Should get a bit easier now Shoaib has been seen off

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 05:29 - 6513 of 10502

Collingwood very lucky there

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 05:32 - 6514 of 10502

I just like to see him get his 100 today (for my sake, I need him) having missed out by 4 last time.

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 05:35 - 6515 of 10502

Not for my book, but for him id love him to get 100, that said hes had 2 lives already this morning

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 05:46 - 6516 of 10502

Looks painful for Bell there. Just take your time with the treatment!

Draw odds have come right in!

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 05:47 - 6517 of 10502

you green yet?

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 05:49 - 6518 of 10502

No but Colly survives again!

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 05:51 - 6519 of 10502

Do the draw odds seem a little on the short side to you?

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 05:52 - 6520 of 10502

Very but theyll only get shorter unless a wicket falls soon.

Collingwood not picking the canary at all

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 05:57 - 6521 of 10502

If I green up I'll just climb back into bed!

Starting to enjoy this game so will hang on a little longer.

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 06:02 - 6522 of 10502

my books starting to look a bit messy - could do with a wicket

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 06:09 - 6523 of 10502

another life for Colly

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 06:10 - 6524 of 10502

A couple of half chance edges from Colly. Using up more and more lives.

WOODIE - 03 Dec 2005 06:23 - 6525 of 10502
