How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 07:44 - 6532 of 10502

Colly out first over after lunch - sill no 100 for him

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 07:45 - 6533 of 10502

Nice one bak - good timing

another wicket or two now and this could get interesting again with the new ball due in about 20 overs

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 07:47 - 6534 of 10502

More lucky timing!

Put an order to green at 1.08 which got filled when the 4 was scored.

Next ball Colly was out.

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 07:54 - 6535 of 10502

My book currently is huge green Pakn, medium red Draw huge red England.

Just a case of timing to green the draw and pakn to the same (glad i laid some more at 1.2 and 1.1 to average down :-)

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 07:58 - 6540 of 10502

I must have had a glimpse of the future at 1.08!

Fundamentalist - 03 Dec 2005 07:59 - 6541 of 10502

bakko - 03 Dec 2005 08:01 - 6542 of 10502

For your sake I hope more wickets tumble which is looking very likely now.

I'm leaving well alone. No trading at all.

I'm massive green on both draw and Pak win.
