THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Syria,

I know a lot of gun ho little englanders want to get stuck into Syria and ME and are egging on Wavy Dave, but I would suggest some should look at how interested the USA are in the M.E. now that they have a relatively cheap own source of fuel and have been and are showing wishing to be out of the ME altogether.

Suck the UK into Syria and deeper into the M.E. in general, how does the UK extricate itself?

umhumh.

TANKER - 26 Nov 2015 09:34 - 65335 of 81564

FRED LISTEN TO JOH PILENGER LAST NIGHT YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY

Cameron and the French and barmy are to blame for the rise of isil giving them weapons to defeat ASSAD . ASSAD IS NOT THE PROBLEM IT IS UK USA FRANCE

WANTING TO GET RID OF ASSAD WHO HAS BEEN FIGHTING THE SCUM FOR YEARS

listen to pilenger

TANKER - 26 Nov 2015 09:35 - 65336 of 81564

net migration to the uk 336 000 up 82000 on last year

jimmy b - 26 Nov 2015 09:40 - 65337 of 81564

I don't think we should be bombing Syria ,what's the point ? .
Keep our own country safe ,spend the millions it would cost bombing on security and checks on who is entering and already in our country .

jimmy b - 26 Nov 2015 09:41 - 65338 of 81564

Close borders in Europe and start deporting ..

VICTIM - 26 Nov 2015 09:51 - 65339 of 81564

Now now jimmy we can't upset these poor people , but apparently the opinion of the people of EU counts for zilch .

TANKER - 26 Nov 2015 09:58 - 65340 of 81564

france selling weapons to the very people killing their people
yes close our borders get us out of the stinking rotten eu and send the migrants back

jimmy b - 26 Nov 2015 09:59 - 65341 of 81564

That's the problem ,the programme on channel 4 this week was an eye opener we still have hate preaching in the streets of London and nothing is done .

These people have to be removed ,it has nothing to do with free speech.

VICTIM - 26 Nov 2015 10:05 - 65342 of 81564

Everything is an eye opener to me now , I've watched much more news , even watched Russia today to see what's said and am coming round to their interpretation of events . Turkey are aiding ISIS no doubt and they are joining EU.

Fred1new - 26 Nov 2015 10:06 - 65343 of 81564

JB,

What are you preaching?

jimmy b - 26 Nov 2015 10:07 - 65344 of 81564

Turkey must not be allowed to join the EU !!! that then is a direct route for all and sundry , are we all completely mad !!!

TANKER - 26 Nov 2015 10:12 - 65345 of 81564

turks are a rotten nation of crime and fraud ,
avoid turkey you are putting your family at risk of death

VICTIM - 26 Nov 2015 10:17 - 65346 of 81564

Erdogan is a total scum bag , his jets continually invade Greece airspace as seen yesterday . and when they were supposed to bomb ISIS in northen Iraq they bombed the PKK etc . His son supplied the tankers for ISIS fuel . And theres Merkel all over him weeks ago .

jimmy b - 26 Nov 2015 10:23 - 65347 of 81564

Merkel is an absolute disgrace .She encouraged hundreds of thousands to invade (yes it was an invasion) Europe and with them came god knows how many more terrorists .

Because of Turkeys actions Putin may start something huge .

Stan - 26 Nov 2015 10:36 - 65348 of 81564

Calm down and relax all you right wingers! Despite all the recent talk about Turkey "maybe" joining the EU (thats all it is talk IMHO), because of Turkey's dreadful human rights abuses in the past before all this ISIS stuff kicked off.. It's very very unlikely that Turkey will be allowed to join the EU..so just think about it and relax.

VICTIM - 26 Nov 2015 10:45 - 65349 of 81564

Well I watched a clip of an Italian MP who said we give I think 3.5 billion euros to Turkey and all they do is shoot down a Russian jet we must not let them join EU . That's basically what he said .

Haystack - 26 Nov 2015 11:11 - 65350 of 81564

This was a silly idea. I suppose they thought that the police would go home and leave the van there because 5 people didn't want a new runway.

The inbound tunnel to Heathrow Airport has been blocked by climate change activists protesting at proposals to expand the West London airport.

Five people were arrested as members of campaign group Plane Stupid locked themselves into a vehicle they parked across the lanes of the main road into the airport.

MaxK - 26 Nov 2015 11:30 - 65351 of 81564

Well, the "stupid" bit is on the money!

iturama - 26 Nov 2015 11:45 - 65352 of 81564

I thought Corbyn's remarks on the Syrian bombing discussion were thoughtful and sensible.
Syria is a mare's nest of conflicting political forces and unless there is a consensus between Russia, Turkey and the west, backed by the people they represent, no coordinated advance will be made to clear out da'ish and allow people to resettle.
Until that is done, I believe any british force should be focused purely in support of the Kurds to allow them to regain all of their traditional areas and create a safe zone outside.
Assad has to be part of the equation at least for the reconstruction period.

Haystack - 26 Nov 2015 11:52 - 65353 of 81564

One problem is that Putin wants Assad to stay. We may end up in conflict with Russia if we bomb Assad's forces as part of the process.
