THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Is Fred still bleating on ??

cynic - 27 Nov 2015 10:27 - 65427 of 81564

comme d'habitude ...... except he doesn't want to align himself with the french unless corbyn, abbott and mccluskey unexpectedly change their minds

iturama - 27 Nov 2015 10:32 - 65428 of 81564

Right. I'm sure the French are fretting on Fred supporting them.

VICTIM - 27 Nov 2015 10:40 - 65429 of 81564

If you don't try to annihilate these people and they carry on, don't you think this would encourage every other opposition/rebel of every Nation out there to do the same . We are in this now there's no going back you can't talk to ISIS it's obvious . the only thing good is that it seems most Nations are against them .( at least on the face of it ) Morality is gone for good it's survival of the fittest that's all thats left .

cynic - 27 Nov 2015 10:45 - 65430 of 81564

V - you're right in many ways, but there still needs to be a plan in place for after the event ...... of course, things never work out the way expected, but if no plan then a shambles MUST ensue

imo, there is indeed a plan being hatched but it will require collaboration all round and especially from putin with regard to replacing assad, albeit with a puppet and perhaps someone just as nasty in the long run

quite how the sunni/shia/fundamentalist factions will react is anyone's guess

VICTIM - 27 Nov 2015 10:48 - 65431 of 81564

cynic I'm just wondering if Putin will be difficult about Assad especially with the Turks situation .

Fred1new - 27 Nov 2015 10:52 - 65432 of 81564

Manuel,

Unlike you I am not feeble minded and running with the sheep.

Take Hazy one, it and JB with you, they should be good company!

Mind Haze hasn't got back from seeing Lynton yet.

What is interesting, to me, is when those who are prepared and advocate sending others to do the "killing" or be "killed" are uncertain about the results of the actions, but shout "loyalties" and cling to their own armchairs.

I would suggest some of these heroes volunteer to work in the "War Zones" after their applauded actions, caring for the maimed and carrying out the necessary rebuilding and reparation work.

Of course building "asylum" areas and Orphanages and Hospitals.

"Morality is gone for good it's survival of the fittest that's all thats left ."

Interesting.

Have a close look at Darwinian Evolution Theory and how individuals and groups "survive" or are "replaced".

cynic - 27 Nov 2015 11:03 - 65434 of 81564

V - putin is forever flexing his muscles, but i guess that is his kgb background ...... there is no doubt that the turks gave the fighter pilot good warning, and he failed to respond; eventually putin will accept that, just as he did when the plane bomb was undeniable

fred - sorry to see you have reverted to your customary very silly mode

jimmy b - 27 Nov 2015 11:06 - 65435 of 81564

VICTIM - 27 Nov 2015 12:20 - 65442 of 81564

Funded by the UK taxpayer as well.

I think there are many who are amoral and others who have a fluctuating morality biasing to what is personally advantageous to themselves at the time.

Psychopaths, often are described being amoral, but often is different situations demonstrate morals or are "moralistic".

Again what is thought as moral fluctuate from period to another and become more libertine. Look at the changes in attitude or moral opinions of abortion since the change in the laws.

Look at moralistic denouncements on divorce and homosexual 50 years ago against the general acceptance.

For the majority nothing is fixed in stone.
-=-=

I think perhaps a more useful words and sometimes easier to define is "abuse", "abusive" and can be against oneself or others.

Abuse can be used to describe actions towards oneself or others.

etc.

-=-=-==-=

But in spite of failings I would prefer to live in most "societies" to-day, rather than
75years ago.

But "moral" codes are interesting!

cynic - 27 Nov 2015 14:26 - 65444 of 81564

morals are set by the society one lives in and as such are a slow movable feast

Fred1new - 27 Nov 2015 14:33 - 65445 of 81564

I see the problem!
