Email from Gerald Malone
"I emailed Ultrasis to let him know what I thought of the way they handled yesterday's developments and things in general. Gerald Malone's reply is reproduced below, with his permission:
Gerald Malone replied as follows:
Dear Sir,
I am dealing with emails following yesterdays speech by the Secretary of State for Health and the RNS issued by Ultrasis. My normal inclination to be resolutely polite to all shareholders is stretched by the abusive tone you have adopted, but I will do my best.
A quoted company is obliged to put accurate information into the public domain, not add spin. What the market then makes of it is the markets business. Are you suggesting that the RNS should have contained false, misleading information? It made the point that the DoH has replaced the original timeline for deploying cCBT and Beating the Blues, extending it through 2008. The key point for Ultrasis is that a contractual framework is agreed and you may bet your bottom dollar on the fact that the team here will now be battling to accelerate the deployment of Beating the Blues across all PCTs in England.
When there is more solid achievement to announce, shareholders will be the first to know. On reflection Im sure you would wish to reconsider what I hope was a frustrated slur against the management team. From where I sit they performed remarkably robustly when it might have been tempting to accede to unreasonable demands from DoH negotiators.
Regards,
Gerald Malone"

Launching cCBT Implementation Guidance that will help the NHS to deliver these innovative therapies to patients, ahead of her speech at the MIND annual conference in Bournemouth, Patricia Hewitt said:
"Mental health services have clearly improved substantially, but we want to offer patients even greater choice over how, when and where they are treated. Being able to access the right kind of therapy, instead of just being prescribed medication, is central to this vision for patients.
"On April 1st, we will reach the first milestone in our drive to provide choice - namely quicker access to computer based self-help services to stop mild mental health problems becoming worse.
"Clinical evidence confirms that counselling and therapy are just as effective as medication in helping to treat most cases of depression. The guidance being published today will give the NHS the information they need to provide these services.
"In addition to continuing to improve services for people with severe mental health problems, we are working to improve the mental wellbeing of society as a whole, and providing a real, twenty-first century service for people with common mental health needs such as anxiety and depression."

Health Secretary Boosts Ultrasis
The future prospects of healthcare specialist ULTRASIS (ULT:AIM) look a good deal more rosy after the secretary of state for health, Patricia Hewitt, recently launched the company backed implementation Guidance for cognitive Behavioural Therapy delivered by computer (cCBT) scheme.
The cCBT programme will be run out during the course of the next two years across all primary care trusts (PCT) in England. Guidance issued by the National Institue for Health and clinical Excellence (NICE) in February last year recommended that the therapy be available in all PCTs by 31st March.
However, Ultrasis - a shares tip for 2007 at 1.48 (21st Dec 06)has confirmed it has yet to enter into any direct National Framework agreement contracts to provide cCBT. A limited number of primary care trusts so however, currently have Ultrasis' flagship cCBT therapy 'beating the blues' and the group is determined to stick to the new timescale set by Hewitt.
Back in January, the company entered into a partnership deal with Priory Group to supply its 'Beating the blues' product. Shares have picked up pace this month, peaking at 1.77p, having reached a low of 1.29p back in February. But they are proving highly volatile, edging back back to around the 1.44p level since.
*Shares says: improving outlook but the shares remain unpredictable.

Have been out of this one for a while but now back in at 1.539 as I believe that the NHS has no other option than to sign up for btb. (waiting to see if Patricia Hewitt actually is going to do some good for the NHS for a change)

HI hlyeo98
this one i'm 100% sure 2008 will see the sun rise for all to see 2009 will be 25p+
Further success will depend on the company's ability to use any NHS deal as a springboard to sell the programme to additional healthcare purchasers in Britain and internationally.
when this happens then we will see the sunset ..

Statement from Chairman and Chief Executive
The announcement by the Department of Health (DH) that Ultrasis had been invited
to talks to establish a National Framework Agreement for implementation of our
core product, Beating the Blues (BtB), across the NHS was a milestone. However,
the effect was to cause Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) to pause their purchases of
BtB until the outcome of the talks became clear. As a result new business growth
was restricted in the first 6 months, although BtB licence renewals, your
company's principal source of income, continued as anticipated.
Financial Highlights - Results for the six months ended 31st January 2007
In the six months ended 31st January 2007, recognised revenue from ordinary
operating activities grew to 692,000 from 664,000 in the same period last
year. The loss for the period before share-based payments was 144,000 and
379,000 after share-based payments; January 2006: 95,000.
Beating the Blues
As reported on 28th March 2007 the Secretary of State for Health, Patricia
Hewitt, confirmed that 'over 2007/8 the establishment of cCBT in every PCT will
be an important building block in the delivery of comprehensive psychological
therapy services. Clinical evidence confirms that counselling and therapy are
just as effective as medication in helping to treat most cases of depression.
The guidance being published today will give the NHS the information they need
to provide these services'.
This is a significant milestone in achieving the board's objective of confirming
BtB as the market leader in the delivery of computer delivered cognitive
behavioural therapy (cCBT) in the UK.
We are pleased to report strong sales in the third quarter. As NICE
implementation proceeds, we anticipate an increase of new sales of BtB in the
second half.
New developments
There have been developments in other business areas, too. Following the
acquisition of Healthstar group plc and the reacquisition of the retail rights
of BtB and its derivative products, Ultrasis, within existing resource,
developed and launched an online retail arm -
www.thewellnessshop.co.uk
-
selling directly to consumers a number of self-help programmes and products for
the relief of the increasingly recognised common problems, stress, anxiety,
insomnia and depression. This provides a platform to retail BtB in the future
and focus on the long term development of the 'wellness' brand.
Operating overheads in the last six months rose 159,000, a: to strengthen the
Ultrasis team in anticipation of the need to deliver increased activity on
conclusion of the National Framework Agreement, and b: to participate in new
public sector initiatives, such as the Department of Work and Pensions programme
to reduce long term invalidity and developments in the corporate market. This is
clear evidence that the value of therapies offered by Ultrasis is increasingly
well recognised.
Conditions Management Programme
As part of the DWP commissioned Pathways to Work (PTW) programme, Conditions
Management represents a radical approach by the Government, offering to both
commercial healthcare providers and the NHS the opportunity to provide both
mental health and vocational rehabilitation services to assist in getting people
back to work. This service has traditionally been provided by the NHS but is now
open to external providers and Ultrasis is currently involved with other
partners in both Rounds 1 & 2, where services in a total of 30 authorities have
been put out to tender.
Corporate
We continue to explore opportunities in the corporate market. Ultrasis'
partnership with the Priory Group, one of Europe's leaders in mental health
provision, where we jointly provide a range of mental health services for
Croydon Primary Care Trust, is an example of the business opportunities in this
area and both parties have committed to consider bidding on other projects,
should the opportunity arise.
The market
The roll-out of BtB across PCTs in England enhances the status of all Ultrasis
products and will assist in our marketing efforts in the USA. We will
concentrate on opportunities to build on existing productive relationships, such
as with Managed Health Networks (MHN), but are prepared to terminate non
productive relationships, one such being with HealthMedia Inc, to focus on new
opportunities which are emerging.
A proven product
Further evidence of the efficacy of BtB was enhanced by the publication of an
open study in routine care, demonstrating that BtB was as effective as face to
face therapy. Furthermore, an analysis (to be published) of 600 patients in a
specialist CBT centre in Chelmsford showed that after using BtB, 7 out of 10
patients needed no further intervention.
Conclusion
The positive developments of the last six months mark a significant milestone in
the long term development of your company as a leading provider of cCBT in the
public and private sectors, in both clinical and retail markets. While
continuing to seek opportunities in other markets, the company's immediate
priority will be to deliver implementation of the NICE recommendations across
PCTs in England, building on the strong sales in the third quarter.
We thank the Ultrasis team for the achievements of the past six months and our
advisers, too, for their input.

Help me out here guys.
This morning is summed up by an interim statement that T/O is ahead, sales are rising, the government invited us to work with them to implement our product all over the UK, we have a new retail arm online, we are actively marketing in USA, we have found a new corporate breed of prospective clients and we are so confident that we will be installing all over the UK in the next 12 months that we have taken extra staff.
Followed by an SP slump of 9%.
Am I missing something???

The point I was trying to make was that the good news outweighed the bad, but the SP reacted like the loss was the only thing to report.
I have been in ULT since the sub 1p days and was getting bored with waiting, but the interims read to me that the wait is almost over. If it is, then now is a good time to get in, not get out.
Those selling are doing so very short sightedly IMHO.
