Good evening everyone. Very sad to hear about Croc, never met him but passed a few e-mails from time to time. He will be sadly missed by many in MoneyAM.

Maybe GD could make up a memorial plaque on the Cafe header where the like of Croc can be remembered.

jj50 - 25 May 2004 19:24 - 6562 of 23498

Evening all. Happy Birthday zarif.

Like everyone, just felt so shocked to hear about David. Only spoke to him last week as I had booked a place on his August course. He seemed such a really decent chap and the mornings will not be the same without his Traders Thread. He will be sadly missed...

jeffmack - 25 May 2004 20:20 - 6563 of 23498

Just been catching up on the sad news. Unbelievable that he posted the traders thread last night as normal and now he's gone.

I met him twice and spoke on the phone a couple of times, very nice bloke and always ready to help when asked.

dotel - 25 May 2004 22:26 - 6564 of 23498

Well, vasey brought me to the cafe in the first place, so I shan't miss an evening if I can help it...I'll just help myself to some tapwater until MM shows up

Martini - 25 May 2004 23:22 - 6565 of 23498

I got a bottle of Chablis on the go - shall we top up our glasses for a toast D?

dotel - 25 May 2004 23:23 - 6566 of 23498

Indeedy, M

Martini - 25 May 2004 23:25 - 6567 of 23498

Ok over to you kid you are good with the words and only one thing to toast tonight

dotel - 25 May 2004 23:28 - 6568 of 23498

I'm crap with words, but there is only one thing to toast - here's to Croc, and boy, is he still with us

Martini - 25 May 2004 23:30 - 6569 of 23498

That hits the spot for me. I raise my glass to Croc - he is still with us

dotel - 25 May 2004 23:33 - 6570 of 23498

That is the point, you know - as long as he is remembered, he'll never be gone

Cheers M - and anyone else

optomistic - 25 May 2004 23:46 - 6571 of 23498

Goodnight all. Goodnight Croc.

MightyMicro - 25 May 2004 23:59 - 6572 of 23498

Hello all, on a sombre day. However, let's toast Croc, the Trader's friend, and a great guy. For this we open the Mumm Napa DVX, their finest vintage. *Pop* *Fizz . . .*

So raise your glasses to that great trading desk in the sky, where the longs soar ever upwards and the shorts plummet ever downwards, where there are no requotes, where the spreads get narrower and never widen, where the FTSE follows the Dow (again) . . . aw the heck with it, that would bore the pants off Croc!

Here's to a well liked and respected man.

dotel - 26 May 2004 00:05 - 6573 of 23498

I'll join you in that MM - I'm just playing the nightwatchman here

MightyMicro - 26 May 2004 00:11 - 6574 of 23498

I don't expect that the nightwatchman will object ;)

dotel - 26 May 2004 00:13 - 6575 of 23498

Blimey, did I miss out a proposition?

MightyMicro - 26 May 2004 00:17 - 6576 of 23498

No -- perhaps a preposition. Or even a Pre-position.

dotel - 26 May 2004 00:18 - 6577 of 23498

I was going to add sic, you know...but I prefer pre-position

dotel - 26 May 2004 00:20 - 6578 of 23498

Was thinking earlier, Croc said, a few hundred posts back, that he was going to grace the caff with his custom again soon..

MightyMicro - 26 May 2004 01:27 - 6579 of 23498

I expect he's here now.

stockbunny - 26 May 2004 09:12 - 6580 of 23498

Good Morning - coffee, tea, toast and an array of danish pastries
on the counter - it's going to be a GOOD day today - woke up this
morning and decided as they say in the show-biz world
The Show Must Go On!
and it seems the FTSE, following the great evening on the DOW last
night agrees...a fitting tribute to a new day.

Happy belated Birthday Wishes Zarif! have a great day!!
