THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Hays,

Just a question, why didn't we bomb Belfast or Newry etc.. when the Irish conflict was on. There were hundreds of IRA we could have killed.

I supposed the Irish looked a bit too much like ourselves and not bloody foreigners who don't count?

Haystack - 01 Dec 2015 14:09 - 65678 of 81564

The debate will on until around 11pm and then there will be a vote. Hilary Benn will speak last for Labour. I am sure that there will be bombing within a few hours of the vote.

Hays,

I wanted to use one of Manuel's favourite descriptive word for you, but won't!

Many tories are asking for a free vote but Cameron hasn't the guts to allow them.

The sheep have to toe "his" party line.

I respect Corbyn for allowing a free vote on this and all major issues.

It is adult behaviour to do so, not that of playground bully boys of your ilk.

Here they come Fred ........................

Haystack - 01 Dec 2015 15:12 - 65685 of 81564

In any other time Corbyn would have resigned. He has allowed a free vote because his shadow cabinet told him that they would stand for nothing less. He then got a 'kickung' at the meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party last night. He started out yesterday morning determined to wip the party to vote against bombing. By the end of the day he was forced to give into all the demands of the Shadow Cabinet and the Labour MPs.

His followers tried to give the impression that he was giving a free vote. Nothing could be further from the truth. His promise of a free vote was extracted from him like pulling a tooth. How can Corbyn stay on after such a farce? The estimate from Corbyn's own whips is that as many as 100+ plus may vote for the government.

Haystack - 01 Dec 2015 15:40 - 65686 of 81564

Labour have been forced to cancel a phone canvassing event in support of Oldham by-election candidate Jim McMahon at their Brewers Green HQ tonight. The safety of those attending the scheduled “phonebank” at One Brewers Green could not be guaranteed because Stop the War are marching on it in protest at Corbyn’s decision to allow a free vote. Labour sources are understandably furious. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face…

Fred1new - 01 Dec 2015 15:48 - 65687 of 81564

JB,

I suppose you will be leading from the front, or perhaps, and more likely shitting yourself in you armchair in front of the TV.

-=-====

Hays.

Many tories are asking for a free vote, and many will probably NO to the proposed bill, but Cameron hasn't the guts nor the decency to give a free vote.

He couldn't stand a vote going against him.

Immature school common room behaviour from a stunted background!

Fred1new - 01 Dec 2015 15:50 - 65688 of 81564

Vic..

You are a tissue and just as absorbent!

VICTIM - 01 Dec 2015 15:51 - 65689 of 81564

NAY .

cynic - 01 Dec 2015 16:02 - 65690 of 81564

do you KNOW FOR SURE that tory MPs are not being allowed a free vote?
i dare say reluctant tory MPs are feeling a bit of heat, but probably less than that being exerted by mccluskey who intend to vote with the gov't

btw, the tory MP on the tv this morning did not give any impression of other than a free vote, for he was inclined to vote against, but was still undecided

Stan - 01 Dec 2015 16:02 - 65691 of 81564

Fred, Don't you mean he couldn't stand a vote going against him "again" -):

jimmy b - 01 Dec 2015 16:08 - 65692 of 81564

Is that idiot Fred still waffling on ??

Haystack - 01 Dec 2015 16:10 - 65693 of 81564

It looks like the Libs and DUP will vote with the government.

Haystack - 01 Dec 2015 16:14 - 65694 of 81564

There could be quite a large majority in favour of action.

Fred1new - 01 Dec 2015 16:14 - 65695 of 81564

I see a Gestapo type troll is on the prowl again.

Wishing to suppress any view he doesn't understand or disagrees with.

Reminds me of a behaviour problem.

Perhaps, it is a call for help!

jimmy b - 01 Dec 2015 16:21 - 65696 of 81564

Is that you Fred ? it's very dark in here :)
