55 - if you do bring a horse then don't forget to bring Lady Godiva as well ..... I guess the Senior Revenue Officer on the train would let her travel for free...(unless it's Great Western)?

But Bob Oddy, of the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association, said: They can tip over and people can get thrown out".
True .... especially if taking sharp corners at high speed on a wet road ...(personal experience .... although not in Brum).

Are yes saw a news item on that couple of weeks back, looking towards seeing the new one (in a couple of years I think) open. Did you get a chance to pop in to our former venue The Anchor to see if there were any changes?

Only got to the Coach Station itself. Sat inside a couple of the old Midland Red single deckers including one that used to run to Shrewsbury. Also got aboard the very latest large delux coach which is due for the Heathrow route. Young one was in tow so didn't get to any drinking establishments. I've never been in the Anchor before. All the area on south side of Coach Station being demolished - think thats the area that is going to have the 'Digbeth Place' developement of apartments, bars, restaurants and a hotel. Yes, the new coach station should be ready in two years time (on site of the existing one).

Auctioneers believed the interior of a pub being sold in Handsworth, Birmingham, may be worth more than the building.

What! Gentrification of Digbeth!!. May have to get a listing order on the Anchor's beer engines pronto!!!
You make it sound like typical modern Britain Stan. The old facility closes two years before its replacement opens.

Fred,
I had a glance at the IC while passing a few minutes in the New Street waiting room yesterday evening. I see they recommended to sell back at 277 and it since went up. Probably a fit of pique that they are saying "sell" again. Does that suggest we'll be good for 400 by Christmas? IC contrarianism..........
In the Indie yesterday an item featuring a Cazenove fund manager. He has backed the new management at MCRO since it was installed and has done handsomely. As long as he sits tight...........

Hey chaps,
sounds like some interesting share positioning going on with MCRO. How about one of you setting a thread up for them (incorporating a chart preferably in the header)?

Though of joining you tomorrow at the SAS meeting, but realised I would have to bring my own armchair. Have a good meeting.
MCRO is a peculiar company. Although I hold some shares haven't worked it out yet.
I will put the chart up and 55 can add some body to it.

Beer sales in pubs have slumped to their lowest level since the 1930s, brewery representatives have said.

The BBPA said tax on beer had increased by 27% since 1997 - compared to 16% for wine, 3% for spirits and 11% for cider.
Think the comment above illustrates yet again how this pretend Tory government has taxed this industry compared with the real one! As for the quoted slump comment in the first year of the smoking ban I would have been surprised if sales had not decreased, they are merely inline with other countries that have brought in such sensible laws on this subject.

With a government like this, then not a lot of point bothering with Norton Internet Security Suite for ourselves is there:
(Not that enforced staff cutbacks and bottom line watching would hve had anything to do with it...)
Alistair Darling has blamed mistakes by junior officials at HM Revenue and Customs after details of 25 million child benefit recipients were lost.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7103566.stm
"Revenue and Customs says it does not think the records - names, addresses, date of birth, national insurance numbers and bank accounts - have fallen into the wrong hands. "
Well, that's certainly reassuring, isn't it?
Remind me to vote for the 'Monster Raving Looney Party' next time round... unless someone forms the 'Monster Pie & Pint Part' (aka as MP3..... !!!)
