gd - just a thought but suppose my charity award for the winner was given to Dave's family preferred charity? I guess it would be for the winner to decide but I would be happy to send the cheque to the winner for them to donate.

Also are we having a new game? I can only improve :))

stockbunny - 27 May 2004 15:06 - 6606 of 23498

Gianni - although it is very unlikely I will win, I think your
suggestion is a great one and if (very unlikely) I did win, that
would be the choice for me.

stockbunny - 27 May 2004 15:27 - 6607 of 23498

Well I'm off to do the ironing - boring I know but until everyone
stops wearing clothes it's an unavoidable fact of life.
Be lucky people!!

vasey - 27 May 2004 18:08 - 6608 of 23498

good evening, cafettes......I would like a small glass of chilled white wine, please and a copy of the FT if poochy hasn't already found a use for it....

Socrates - 27 May 2004 18:13 - 6609 of 23498

Hello all

Vasey
You may be unlucky with the FT. I have a suspicion that it may have been cut into small squares, and is now hanging from a string in the loo.

I'll have a glass of that white wine as long as you can fizz it up a bit in one of those soda machines. Couple of teaspoons of sugar in it too, can't stand dry wine.

Aer you holding MKS? That's a bit of a surprise party isn't it?

snoball - 27 May 2004 18:13 - 6610 of 23498

Very therapeutic, ironing is, stockbunny.

When I sanded my floor, stockbunny, it was covered in that brown sticky stuff
which was under the original 1930's lino. It took 10 sheets of sanding paper to
get off.

Welcome back GD. Espero que te encuentras bien.

vasey - 27 May 2004 18:14 - 6611 of 23498

Funnily enough, Socs, I am holding a few MKS. I was out most of the day, so a nice surprise to come home to. I hope the world is treating you well....or better, at least.

jeffmack - 27 May 2004 19:50 - 6612 of 23498

GD back from his travels, last time he went for a holiday he was gone for a year.

Golddog - 27 May 2004 20:59 - 6613 of 23498

Game updated for you all and i'm afraid poochy is still top, which is a very big surprise to me indeed. I would much rather someone else win it to be honest, however in the likely event that i'm still top by the end of tomorrow (which is end of game) then of course the lovely donation from Gianni can be given to Crocs family to donate with how they wish. If someone else rockets to the top tomorrow then i think the winner should donate the charity fund to Croc or at least part of it. and thankyou once again Gianni.

Golddog - 27 May 2004 21:04 - 6614 of 23498

For the girls in the Game it could be a close finish between littlewoman and bunny for Top Investor Girl, with only 400 between them.

and yes there will be another game along soonish which will be team based.

Bottle of Mahou please.

hightone - 27 May 2004 21:19 - 6615 of 23498

HT, Read the thread at the top of the BB.

Yes had a really good time, very relaxing and could of stayed a lot longer! The weather could of been better (so to speak), but no complaints. Poochy is fully refreshed and you have no chance to win the game tomorrow!! :-)

dotel - 27 May 2004 21:26 - 6617 of 23498

Iain - 27 May 2004 21:46 - 6623 of 23498

Let`s not go there.Im sure when Vasey reads this she`ll be worried.
Vasey: I shall love you from afar,again.As in "Ode to his coy Mistress"Not that your, or ever will ever be my mistress!!.........................SHUT UP IAIN!
Off to a Holts Pub.Night

Had we but world enough, and time,
This coyness, Lady, were no crime.
We would sit down and think which way
To walk and pass our long love's day.
Thou by the Indian Ganges' side
Shouldst rubies find: I by the tide
Of Humber would complain. I would
Love you ten years before the Flood,
And you should, if you please, refuse
Till the conversion of the Jews.
My vegetable love should grow
Vaster than empires, and more slow;
An hundred years should go to praise
Thine eyes and on thy forehead gaze;
Two hundred to adore each breast;
But thirty thousand to the rest;
An age at least to every part,
And the last age should show your heart;
For, Lady, you deserve this state,
Nor would I love at lower rate.
But at my back I always hear
Time's wing chariot hurrying near;
And yonder all before us lie
Deserts of vast eternity.
Thy beauty shall no more be found,
Nor, in thy marble vault, shall sound
My echoing song: then worms shall try
That long preserved virginity,
And your quaint honour turns to dust,
And into ashes all my lust:
The grave's a fine and private place,
But none, I think, do there embrace.
Now therefore, while the youthful hue
Sits on thy skin like morning dew,
And while thy willing soul transpires
At every pore with instant fires,
Now let us sport us while we may,
And now, like amorous birds of prey,
Rather at once our time devour
Than languish in his slow-chapt power.
Let us roll all our strength and all
Our sweetness up into one ball,
And tear our pleasures with rough strife
Thorough the iron gates of life:
Thus, though we cannot make our sun
Stand still, yet we will make him run

Golddog - 27 May 2004 21:53 - 6624 of 23498

iain, I don't think Vasey is the worrying type and you can go wherever you like in this Cafe. Enjoy your holts. (sorry i removed your holts banner but made way for crocs spirit)
